A Very Dreamy Weekend at North Star Club

Ohhhhh, North Star Club. Where do I even start?! Our visit there a couple of weeks ago was absolutely perfect, and I haven't stopped going on about it since! Set in Sancton in East Yorkshire, North Star Club bills itself as a magical woodland escape, and in all honesty, I couldn't describe it any better. The site boasts eight luxury woodland suites as well as a super cosy communal area and a campfire. Everywhere is decorated impeccably and the whole vibe of the place is just perfect.

I think the thing I loved so much about North Star Club is that you got to experience all the best bits of camping without having to scrimp on any of the luxury. We marvelled at the thousands of stars we could see, toasted marshmallows on the campfire and spent loads of time in the fresh air, but we also got to sleep in an amazing four poster bed and enjoy the incredible bath.

From the moment we arrived on Friday evening, we knew we were in for a treat. We were greeted with a lovely, warm welcome and shown to our very own log cabin (we stayed in the Sitwell suite). As soon as we opened the door I couldn't stop squealing - everything was just amazing!

The bed was a particular winner for us - we've both been having trouble sleeping recently, but as soon as we jumped onto this one we knew that that wouldn't be an issue! The pillows were super soft and the faux fur throw meant that we were kept cosy all night.

For extra cosiness, the bedroom also has it's very own log burner. I can't tell you how relaxing it was to be lying in bed, reading my book and drinking wine, while the fire flickered in the corner. Just bliss.

The bedroom was kitted out with even more gorgeous features - the Scandi decor was right up my street. The floor to ceiling doors were a particular favourite of mine - it was so nice to open the curtains in the morning and stare straight out into the trees. It felt very different to waking up in Leeds, that's for sure!

There was also a small second bedroom with bunk beds which would be very handy if you were staying in the cabins with kids. It's worth mentioning that I think North Star Club would be a perfect place for a family trip - I think it would be such a novelty for little ones!

We also had a little living area, complete with a sofa bed, table and chairs and a very handy small fridge freezer. There were also plenty of utensils to use which was useful.

At the front of the cabin we had our own veranda which housed a table and chairs, a bench and a BBQ. Again, the veranda looked straight out into the forest which was incredible, and we had lots of fun BBQ-ing our dinner on the Saturday night and eating al fresco (despite it being December!).

Without a doubt, the best bit of our cabin was the bathroom. Oh my days, the bathroom! I'm not exaggerating when I say it was bigger than our living room and it was totally PERFECT.

The bath was the biggest one I have ever seen and the rainforest shower was a thing of dreams. The decor was totally gorgeous too, with slate tiles, plenty of candles and a cosy skin hide. I was also super impressed with the toiletries which smelt amazing.

I swear I spent over an hour sat in that tub, drinking prosecco and reading my book, and it was like heaven. If it hadn't been for Sam calling me for dinner, I'm not sure I would have got out!The communal area of North Star Club, The Woodshed, was just as gorgeous as our log cabin. The fire was roaring, the sofas were comfy and there were fairy lights everywhere - it was an Instagrammers dream!

There was also a little honesty stand where you could help yourself to tea, coffee and brownies for a donation. I was so impressed with the tea selection - it was amazing!

Just outside of The Woodshed was the campfire area, which we really loved. On the Saturday evening we made Baileys hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows - Sam even played a little bit of guitar to give us that true campfire feel! It was such a lovely way to spend an hour - it has made me certain that I really want a fire pit for our garden.

Another great thing about North Star Club is that there are some lovely walking routes on site. We thoroughly enjoyed getting out in the fresh air and getting our countryside fix. We spotted pheasants, rabbits and squirrels, and apparently you can sometimes even see deer if you're lucky!

While the BBQ gives you a great self-catering option on site, if you're not in the mood for cooking there are plenty of options locally. We tried out The Star Inn in Sancton which was a 10-15 minute walk away and it was fab. It was super cosy and had a great selection of drinks, plus the food was amazing! The menu was really impressive and the use of local ingredients just makes everything taste that much better. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

We had the most fabulous stay at North Star Club - I honestly can't remember the last time I felt that relaxed. It was just what we both needed. It really is the perfect location  if you're in need of some serious down time - the combination of fresh air, long baths and absolutely no wifi makes for the ultimate detox!

If you'd like to see more about our stay then make sure to check out this week's vlog where I give you a little tour of our cabin in all it's glory. I couldn't rate this place more and I'm already trying to think up excuses for why I need to go back...

*We were offered a complimentary stay at North Star Club in exchange for an honest review, but as always, all opinions are my own (I really am just that enthusiastic about baths!)
