10 favourites this week (#143)

Happy Monday everyone! How are you all? I am feeling TIRED today as I had such a busy week last week, but I had lots of fun amongst the long work days too, so I can’t complain. Plus things are looking much calmer this week so I’ll be back to myself in no time.

Anyway, let’s crack on with this week’s favourites shall we?

1) Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets

One of the things I love most about this time of year is that we get to enjoy some incredible sunrise and sunsets everyday. This week I’ve been lucky enough to catch quite a few while I’ve been running around and I’ve loved it – there’s nothing like a gorgeous orangey pink sky to stop you in your tracks and remind you to be grateful.

2) A lovely team dinner

I spent the first half of the week in London for work and on Monday evening quite a few of my colleagues were there too. We decided to make the most of it by all heading out for a little team dinner by the river and it was lovely. The food was great and it was so nice to have a proper catch up outside of the office.

3) Finally trying Crosstown donuts

I’m a huge donut fun and it seems like every man and his dog have been banging on about how great the donuts from Crosstown are recently, so I was super chuffed to see that they had a stall at the market outside of Kings Cross when I was passing through on Wednesday. I picked up two for Sam and I to share and they were SO yummy.

4) Starting to feel festive

I know that some people will be rolling their eyes and thinking that’s a bit too soon to start thinking about the festive period, but the run up to Christmas was crappy for my family and I last year so this year I am fully embracing it. I’ve been starting to feel a little bit excited this week and may have already watched Home Alone 2 – I just can’t help myself!

5) My friend’s hen do

On Friday evening I headed across to York after work to celebrate my lovely friend’s hen do. We had such a fun weekend filled with food, fizz and laughter, and I loved getting to know Emily’s nearest and dearest. It’s made me feel even more excited for her wedding – watching your friends get hitched is just the best.

6) Relaxing in the hot tub

One of the highlights of the weekend was that the house we all stayed in had it’s very own hot tub. We got to make good use of it and there were definitely more than a couple of bottle of Prosecco enjoyed in it! It was so relaxing and the crisp, autumnal weather just made it even better.

7) Cocktail making

The activity that the bridesmaids had planned for Saturday night was cocktail making and we had such a good laugh. It’s been a very long time since I’ve been behind a bar, but whipping up a couple of cocktails made me realise that I actually kinda miss it. Plus, we had a lot of fun drinking them too!

8) Enjoying the extra hour

Isn’t it weird that having just one extra hour in the day can make the world of difference?! The clocks going back yesterday meant that I got to sleep off my tiny cocktail hangover before heading home for a lovely day in the sunshine with Sam, and still had enough time left to catch up on chores and blogging. Can we have an extra hour every week please?

9) Pizza and family catch ups

As well as pottering in the sunshine, Sam and I also headed up to the next village yesterday for a lovely pizza date with Sam’s brother, his girlfriend and our nephew. The food was good, the company was great and the cuddles from Ralf absolutely made my day – such a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

10) A cosy Sunday evening at home

Now that the autumnal weather has well and truly set in I cannot get enough of cosy evenings at home. Last night we lit all the candles, snuggled under the blankets and binge watched crappy telly. I’m planning on doing the same thing a couple of times this week and I can’t bloody wait.

How has your week been? What have your highlights been?
