10 favourites this week (#148)

favourites this week

Oh happy Monday, you lot! Is it just me, or did this last week go by super quickly? It feels like the festivities are in full swing now, and I’m sure that Christmas will be here before we know it.

The past 7 days have been busy but lovely too, and I’m excited to tell you all about them today. Here are my 10 favourites this week…

1) Listening to Heart Christmas

We embraced the beginning of the Christmas season in the office this week and switched the radio station to Heart Christmas and I was in my element. There’s something about listening to the likes of Wham! and The Pogues at your desk that makes a Monday so much more exciting…

2) Winter Wonderland

On Tuesday evening I headed to Winter Wonderland with a couple of my colleagues and it was so much fun! We rode the world’s largest travelling roller coaster, got the giggles on the waltzers and admired all the pretty fairy lights. It made me feel mega festive and very ready for Christmas.

3) My first Patty&Bun

We worked up quite the appetite with all that fairground fun and were pretty starving by the time we left Winter Wonderland, so we decided to head to Patty&Bun for a burger. It was my first time at Patty&Bun and I was very impressed – I had a really yummy chicken burger and I’m already thinking about when I can head back to try more of the menu.

4) Catching up with Sam & Lucy

One of the perks of having to travel to London for work so often is that I get to catch up with my southern blogging pals, Sam and Lucy, while I’m there. On Wednesday evening I met them both for a yummy vegan Indian feast and a couple of drinks and it was lovely – we put the world to rights, caught up on each other’s projects and generally had a good giggle.

5) Hanging out with my best pal

My final night in London coincided with my best friend’s return to the city after spending the past few months travelling around Canada. We had a little sleepover at my hotel room and she told me all about her trip over a glass of wine – I’ve missed her so much while she’s been gone so it was lovely to see her.

6) Advent calendar time

It’s finally December which can only mean one thing – advent calendar time! I’m a very lucky girl and have got two this year, a classic Dairy Milk one and a gorgeous beauty one that my lovely Mum bought me. I’ve been like a small child again hurrying out of bed every morning to see what’s waiting behind the windows and eating chocolate for brekkie – I love it.

7) A Saturday lie in

After a long week of busy days and meetings in London and a late train home on Friday night, I was more than ready for a lie in this weekend! It was so nice to sleep without an alarm and spend the morning pottering around the house and reading rather than doing anything too productive.

8) Decorating for Christmas

Decorating for Christmas is one of my favourite things to do so I was in my absolute element putting our tree up on Saturday! We put Love Actually on the telly, poured a glass of fizz and got cracking with making our house look as festive as possible. I’m super happy with how our tree turned out and I just love how cosy the fairy lights make everything look.

9) A celebratory roast dinner

We met some of our friends in town yesterday to celebrate my lovely friend Sarah’s recent engagement. We ate a very delicious roast dinner, clinked prosecco and chatted excitedly about wedding plans and dresses! It was such a nice way to spend the afternoon and we all left feeling very full and happy.

10) Family time

We spent the rest of yesterday hanging out with Sam’s brother, sister in law and our little nephew. We haven’t seem them for a while so it was lovely to spend some quality time with them and see all of Ralf’s new tricks – his cute little smiles are enough to make me melt!

How has your week been? Have you done anything fun and festive?
