My 2014 Travel Round Up
I have been very lucky this year to have visited some really great places. I know it’s a bit of a cliché but there is little that I enjoy more than exploring new places – discovering hidden gems, trying new foods and soaking up the atmosphere. Here is my travel round up for 2014: 1) Munich and Nuremberg
In February I visited Munich and Nuremberg for a few days for work and I had a little bit of spare time to explore. It was my first time visiting both cities and I loved roaming around and admiring all of the beautiful architecture. I would love to head back to Nuremberg to visit the Christmas markets they hold every year.
2) Olu Deniz, Turkey
In June we jetted off to Turkey for a week in the sun. We stayed in Olu Deniz which was truly beautiful – think amazing sunsets and the most stunning natural lagoon. We enjoyed a lot of local food (yummy kebabs were our favourite) and had a really relaxing time. I would definitely recommend it for when a recharge of the batteries is required.
Myself and four of my best girlfriends headed off to Barcelona for a weekend city break in July. It was my second time visiting and I loved it just as much as the first time around. It’s perfect for a girly holiday – shopping (yes Zara!), a great beach, delicious food and plenty of culture. Oh, and lots of readily available cava and sangria!
4) New York
For my birthday in November, I headed to New York with my lovely boyfriend. I have been lucky enough to visit the city that never sleeps a few times now and it truly is my favourite place in the whole wide world. I am going to do some more in depth posts about our trip in the New Year but for now let me just say that if you have an opportunity to visit, DO IT.
I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about my recent trip to Amsterdam that you can read here. I visited with my family and we had a great time. I really want to try and plan more trips with my family next year – we all get on very well and seek the same things in a holiday so it makes sense. Any suggestions for some weekend breaks?
