January beauty faves
A quiet social schedule has meant that I've had a bit more time on my hands this month and I've spent quite a bit of it beautifying and pampering. I got lots of lovely goodies for Christmas so it's been nice to try some of them out and there are a few that are really floating my boat this month. Here is my round up of my favourite five: 1) MAC Keepsakes Eyeshadow Compact
I love this palette - I love the nude and smokey hues, I love the quality of MAC eyeshadows and I bloody LOVE the cute little packaging, complete with cameo and pearl edging. What more can a girl want from an eyeshadow compact?
2) Soap and Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter
I can't explain how good this product smells. It's a wonderful sweet smell, a mix of almond, macadamia and cocoa, and let's face it, it makes me want to eat really nice biscuits when I use it. As well as making me smell totally edible, it also leaves my skin super soft and silky, so win win all round really!
3) YSL Gloss Volupte
My Mum always buys me a new fancy lippy for Christmas and this year she did GOOD. The applicator wand of this beauty makes it super easy to apply and it has just the right consistency - not too greasy but not too sticky. I've been wearing it on its own and also layered over a red lipstick base - it's incredibly versatile. I'll definitely be stocking up on a few other shades.
4) Bumble and bumble Thickening Hair Spray
I recently rediscovered this in my bag of hair goodies and I have fallen back in love with it. I spray a bit on my hair whilst it's damp and comb through before styling. It leaves my hair bouncy and full of volume - best of all it makes my blow dry last twice as long!
5) Lush Mint Julips
I bought this lip scrub a little while back and loved it, but since the weather has got bitterly cold I have been using it every single day to keep my lips from getting chapped and rough. I use the scrub and then apply a little bit of Carmex and it has helped to keep my lips feeling smooth - and it tastes pretty great too!
