10 favourites this week (#19)
I can’t tell you how much I love writing these posts. It makes me so happy every Monday to reflect on the previous week and think about all the lovely things that have made me smile. It’s such a nice thing to do and it makes me feel so grateful for all I have – I would highly recommend it! Definitely the best way to start a new week…
I love Nandos. I know some people think it’s a bit dull or overpriced, but sometimes I get a craving that only those delicious Peri-Peri chips will cure. We went on Monday and ate lots of chicken and halloumi and then rolled home to watch Game of Thrones. Strong start to the week in my opinion.
2) Getting tickets for BBC Radio 6 Music Celebrates Sheffield
I applied for tickets to be in the audience for a BBC Radio 6 Music Celebrates Sheffield gig on a bit of a whim, so was chuffed when I found out I got tickets! They’re hosting a one off gig with Mystery Jets and Slow Club next Monday and I’m gonna go along with my lovely friend Jess. We haven’t been to a gig together for ages so I’m pretty excited!
I have consumed more Starbucks skinny coffee frappucinos than I care to admit this week. They’re just so delicious and yummy and refreshing, and even better, if you get a small one, they’re only 83 calories! What more could you want.
4) Blossom, EVERYWHERE
Is there anything more gorgeous than pink blossom sitting against a crisp blue sky? No is the answer, and that is why I have been instagramming the life out of that gorgeousness all week. I want it to last forever, but knowing how windy it is in the UK, it’ll probably be gone in a few days, so make the most of it!
5) Holiday planning
We booked our apartment for Lisbon this week and I have been poring over our guidebook, making plans for all of the things we want to see and do. We only have a week and a half to wait now – I’m so excited for sunshine and lush beaches and sightseeing and yummy Portugese food. Please let me know if you have any recommendations!
6) Funny photos of our family dog, Ted
Ted was 1 on Wednesday, and my Mum took some hilarious photos of him posing in front of a cake, wearing a birthday hat! He looked so sweet and I couldn’t stop laughing when my Mum sent me the pictures – and I gave him lots of extra birthday cuddles this weekend too.
7) Dirty Dancing at the Liverpool Empire
For Mother’s Day, my sister and I treated my Mum to tickets to go and see Dirty Dancing at the theatre. We made a whole day of it, doing a bit of shopping first, having a long leisurely lunch and then drinking lots of Prosecco before heading to the theatre. The show itself was fab and everyone was on their feet dancing by the final song.
8) Bargain Oliver Bonas Frenchie dress
First off, why don’t we have Oliver Bonas in the north?! I love it so much, but can only ever get my fill when I’m in London for work. I picked up this super cute Frenchie dress for a bargain price of £15 at the Kings Cross branch last week – it’s super cute and I love the colours, they’re very spring appropriate!
9) LIVIN’italy lunch
We headed to Granary Wharf yesterday for lunch, and chose a sunny table at LIVIN’italy. I love this place – they do amazing cocktails and their food is so fresh and authentic. We shared a pizza and some N’duja on toast – so carby and delicious, just what I require from weekend food!
10) Sofar Sounds
If you’ve never heard of Sofar Sounds, please click the link and go and have a look. They’re such a fantastic organisation that put on secret gigs in over 120 cities all over the world, usually in super cool venues. Sam played the Leeds gig last night, which was at Northern Monk Refectory. It was such a perfect venue and we had such a lovely chilled out evening, watching some great acts and catching up with friends. Please check it out and head along to one – I promise you’ll love it!
