10 favourites this week (#35)
I've had another insanely lovely week - at the risk of making people sick, I'm feeling so happy and content at the moment! It feels like everything is going just how I want it to, and I've got so much to look forward to in the next couple of months. I wish I could somehow bottle this feeling to gulp down on days when shit hits the fan and getting out of bed feels like an almighty struggle...
I have lots of happy things to share with you all this week, so let's crack on!
1) These lovely flowers from my boy
Sam met me at the station this week with this pretty bunch of colourful roses - aren't they just gorgeous?! They've been cheering up my kitchen all week and make me smile every time I see them.
2) My first spinning class at BPM Bike Lab
I wrote last week about how I'm trying to find a new exercise routine, and so last week I decided to try and something new. I booked myself on to a spinning class at BPM Bike Lab in Leeds and to my surprise I absolutely LOVED it. I've booked myself on to a couple more next week - hopefully I'll enjoy them just as much.
3) Cuddles with baby Rosie
How adorable is that little face?! I had so much fun catching up with Rosie, her yummy Mummy and the other lovely girls. Rosie is the first baby in our group of friends so she was definitely getting most of the attention, but how could she not?
4) Seeing my first meteor shower
This was one of the most amazing things ever - on Wednesday evening we stayed up late, headed down to the canal and watched the sky put on a little show. We could see the shooting stars so clearly and it was so beautiful - I was literally gawping in amazement! Nature's a bit great really isn't it!?
5) Celebrating Sam's birthday
This lovely boy turned 28 on Thursday and we both had the day off to celebrate in style. We ate great food, did a bit of shopping, drank lots of beer and generally acted silly all day! I wish we could take more mid week days off together, but we definitely appreciated having one this week.
6) Delicious food at Yard & Coop
We had a bloody yummy meal at Yard & Coop in Manchester's Northern Quarter when we were there on Thursday - the fried chicken was some of the best I've ever had (and I've eaten a LOT of fried chicken in my 25 years...). Definitely one to check out if you're over that way!
7) Hector And The Search For Happiness
I stumbled across this lovely little film on Netflix on Friday evening and it was perfect - easy viewing and very uplifting. I've been wanting to read the book for a little while now and I'll definitely be picking it up after watching the movie (even if that is the wrong way to do things!)
8) Our new Egyptian cotton bedsheets
I feel like these little babies have changed my life. They cost me a mere £20 in the George Home sale (SUCH a bargain!) and I can't tell you how luxurious they are - I feel like I live in a hotel! It is making it even more difficult to get out of bed in the mornings, but they are so worth it.
9) A gig on a boat
Yesterday we all headed to the Leeds Liverpool canal - Sam played a gig on a barge and we sailed along while we listened! It was the first time I've ever been to a gig on a boat and it was so much fun - and provided the opportunity for many nautical themed puns!
10) Working on a new exciting creative project
If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter you might have already seen what I've been working on this weekend, but if not I'll be revealing all tomorrow. It's the first time I've ever done something like this and I'm really excited to share it all with you!
