A nosey around our house...

yorkshire terraced house I've been meaning to write this post ever since we moved back in July, but in all honesty it's been a bit hectic. We had a few teething problems when we first moved in that stopped us from getting settled straight away and then I had lots of trips planned, and well, now it's the end of September and we're just getting round to unpacking properly...

But I thought it would be fun to share with you some of my favourite home details - it's mainly the living room that we have got sorted so far but I'm hoping to share more with you soon!

Our "fireplace" is one of our favourite bits of the living room. At first I thought we might miss having a proper fire or woodburner but I think the logs look really effective - especially with some fresh flowers placed next to them. Sam got this crate from a wine supplier at work and we use it to store some of our records - we like to mix them around to tie in with whatever colour flowers we have that week.

My Mum and Dad kindly gave us their old leather sofas when we moved in which was a huge help! They're really comfy and the brown leather goes with everything, so I know we'll have them for years. The lovely folk over at Oates & Co sent us this gorgeous cushion which sits perfectly on the huge armchair - it makes it the perfect reading spot, Sam and I are always squabbling over who gets to sit in it!

For the two-seater sofa I picked up some bright cushions in the range and draped our tweed throw over the back - it was a cheap and affordable way for us to add a pop of colour without redecorating. This house is a short term let for us, so we're always on the lookout for ways to make it feel more homely without making any permanent changes.

The landing in the house is really bright and spacious - we have put one of our chest of drawers out there and have stacked up some books and frames to add a bit more character. I really love the peacock flowers and the glass milk bottle - I really want to get more milk bottles to put wild flowers in.

Last but not least, I just wanted to show you these ace magnets that I ordered from Sticky9 - what a cool way to use your beloved Instagram photos! They were so easy to order and they have a matte finish which makes them feel more premium. I love reminiscing on our happy memories and trips every time I open the fridge door.

That's all for today, but I'm hoping to share some snaps from our bedroom and kitchen with you all soon. Please shout if any of you have any more ideas about how we can make our rental accommodation a bit more homely!
