#BuckleyRemembers: The Official Poppy Collection by Buckley London

poppy 3 With Rememberance Day just around the corner, you will no doubt have started to see poppies being worn by many as a mark of respect for those who have lost their lives fighting for their country.

I have bought and worn a poppy every year for as long as I can remember (I can even remember manning our little stand at primary school, collecting the donations from all of my fellow classmates). The only problem with the traditional paper poppies is that, well, they're made of paper. Which is great if you live somewhere with a warm, dry climate, but if like me, you live in the North of England, it's highly likely that your lovely poppy will have been completely weather battered within about 15 minutes.

So when Buckley London offered to send me a brooch from their Official Poppy Collection I jumped at the chance - their brooches are a lot more sturdy, making them perfect to withstand the damp Yorkshire weather. I opted for the small sparkle poppy brooch which does just what it says on the tin - it is plated with a gold tone and made up of over 100 ruby crystals that catch the light at every angle. The brooch is also emblazoned with the words "Lest We Forget" on the reverse - a touching reminder of why we all buy and wear our poppies year after year.

There are lots of other gorgeous pieces within Buckley London's Official Poppy Collection, including keyrings and jewellery (the tiny sparkle poppy earrings are just beautiful!). Best of all, Buckley London are donating all of the profit from the sale of every poppy sold to the Royal British Legion, who do great work with thousands of modern veterans, service men and women and their families. All the more reason to add a bit of sparkle to your day, right?!

So what do you make of the sparkle poppy? Will you be investing in one to mark Rememberance Day this year?
