On Saturday, myself and tonnes of other bloggers headed to The Black Swan in Leeds for the highly anticipated #LeedsXmasMeet, the fab event that had been organised by the lovely Rhianna. I haven't been to a Leeds blogging gathering for ages so I was really looking forward to catching up with some of my favourite local bloggers and meeting some new faces.
The event took place in the upstairs room at The Black Swan. I walk past this bar so often but I had never been in so it was lovely to check a new venue out. The decor was gorgeous - all exposed brick work and mismatched furniture - and the bar was well stocked. They had an extensive cocktail menu which is always bound to keep a gaggle of bloggers happy, and I've heard the food is pretty good there too.
Before long the room was full of chatter and excitement as everyone caught up and introduced themselves to new faces. My favourite thing about this event was how totally relaxed it was - so many events have such a packed itinerary that you hardly get chance to say hello to anyone, but Rhianna had made sure we all had plenty of time to have a drink and a laugh with each other.
The room was decked out in a lovely festive fashion, but my favourite corner was definitely the Christmas selfie station, which Bee and I took full advantage of!
There was also an amazing cupcake decorating station run by the lovely Carrieanne - the table was super busy all day and everyone was proudly showing off and Instagramming their creations. I thought this was such a lovely touch and it definitely inspired me to do some Christmas baking in the next couple of weeks.
But what was getting everyone most excited was the amazing table of raffle prizes! Rhianna had done such a fab job of securing some lovely goodies (I was especially envious of the winners of the Almost Famous vouchers and the Cloud 9 straighteners!) and the raffle was all in aid of Young Minds which is such a fantastic cause.
Once the raffle had been drawn and everyone had done some more mingling, there was only one thing left to do - collect our fab goody bags! Again Rhianna had done an amazing job of securing lots of lovely things for everyone - we were totally spoilt.
And with that, lots of chatty, giddy bloggers spilled out onto Call Lane, heading to various events and social commitments. It was so bloody lovely to have chance to get together with everyone before Christmas gets into full swing. HUGE big thank you again to Rhianna - what an absolute star you are!
