10 favourites this week (#51)
Isn't it scary how fast December is zipping by?! I can't believe we're half way through the month already - 2016 will be here before we know it. I'll be sad to see the back of 2015, it's been a good'un.
How has everyone's week been? Mine has been a lovely one, and quite productive too! I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping now too - just a few more things to pick up when I get paid on Friday (and then the mammoth job of wrapping them all can commence!)
Anyway, here are my 10 favourites this week. Enjoy...
1) Having an offer accepted on a house
This was by far the most exciting thing that happened this week! I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up too much as we have got to this stage before and had do pull out (due to a dodgy survey) but if all goes well it could be a very exciting start to 2016! I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed that we have a bit more luck this time around...
2) Colouring in
I've been obsessed with colouring in ever since Michelle sent me my first adult colouring book back in June (what a babe), but recently I've been colouring for ten minutes most nights as a way to relax and switch off from my busy schedule at work. I also bought some Crayola colouring pencils (THE BEST) this week which has made it even more enjoyable.
I've never really been that into YouTube - every now and then I'll watch a couple of videos but my loyalty has always been with my fave blogs. But Vlogmas has made me totally obsessed with Youtubers! I've been watching vlogs every day on my way to work and loving it. My commute will be much lonelier in January when there are no daily vlogs to catch up on!
4) Opening the first few doors on my Benefit advent calendar
My lovely Mum bought my sister and I one of the Benefit Party Poppers advent calendars each and I've been counting down to the 12th of December to be able to start opening the doors! It was so lovely to have some little treats to open when we got back from Oslo last night and I can't wait to see what else we have to open in the next few weeks.
5) Pizza night with Teddy
Tuesday's can be a bit crap can't they? All the excitement for a new week has faded and the weekend still seems so far away. That's why I love to make plans for Tuesday evenings, and this week those plans included pizza and catch ups with one of my besties. A lovely way to blow away those midweek blues!
6) Christmas shopping with Mum
I was over in Manchester for work on Wednesday afternoon so my Mum and I arranged to meet up at the Trafford Centre afterwards to get some Christmas shopping done. I got lots of gifts ticked off my list and it was lovely to spend a spontaneous evening with my Mum, especially as I'd thought I wouldn't get to see her till Christmas.
7) Return of Serial
I *may* have squealed when I realised that season 2 of Serial had started. You might remember that I was mildly obsessed with this podcast around this time last year, so I'm super glad that the team are back with another story. I'm already hooked and can't wait for next weeks episode. You should definitely check out the first series if you missed it!
8) Oh Comely magazine
I used to read this magazine religiously when it first launched a few years ago, but for some reason I haven't picked it up for a while. I'd forgotten how lovely both the words and photos are, and have thoroughly enjoyed working my way through it on the bus this week. It's definitely firmly back on my regular purchase list.
9) A weekend in Oslo
More on this later in the week, but we had THE LOVELIEST weekend away in Oslo! It is such a gorgeous city and we were blessed with amazing weather - bright blue skies and crazy good sunsets. It was also super nice to spend some time away from everything with Sam after a very hectic and stressful couple of weeks - I'm definitely going to be planning more weekend trips for us in 2016.
10) Getting to play around with my Olympus PEN
This weekend is the first time I've been able to have a proper play around with my Olympus PEN and I am just IN LOVE. It's the perfect camera for travelling with - small enough to fut in your handbag, but absolutely no comprise in terms of photo quality. Plus being able to transfer the photos straight to my phone using the app is ACE for Instagramming on the go.
