Happy New Year

Whilst the calendar on my laptop is telling me that today is the 31st of December, I can't quite believe it's true. It's safe to say that this year has felt a bit like a hurtling high speed train, and it's only in the past few days of quiet down time that I've realised quite how much has been done and seen and achieved this year.
It sounds terribly clichéd, but I will be entering 2016 a different person to who I was this time last year. In the past 365 days, I have grown more confident and at ease with myself, more sure of what I want to get out of life. I hope this peaceful and contented feeling sticks around for the next 12 months.
Tonight we will celebrate the arrival of 2016 with some of our closest friends at one of our favourite places, surrounded by good music and cheap beer. This will be the sixth new year that Sam and I will ring in together, and as soppy as it is, I feel so incredibly lucky to know that we will get to do this together for the rest of our lives.
I hope you all have fun plans for this evening, whether that's a night on the sofa with your favourite person or dancing till the early hours with your best friends. And I hope that the new year brings happiness and health and adventure for you all.
I wrote the other day about how I won't be making any big resolutions this year. All I hope for 2016 is that I can laugh with my loved ones more and see more of the world and lay some foundations on this life that we are building together. And that perhaps you guys will still stick around and keep reading my ramblings, because this blog brings me so much happiness.
2015 is going to take some beating, but I hope 2016 rises to the challenge for all of us.
