1 week without sugar

1 week without sugar It's official guys - I've survived 1 week without the white stuff. It's definitely been more difficult than I expected - I kept a daily diary of how I was feeling and thought my mishaps might bring you some LOLs...

Day 1:

Feeling pretty smug today. I had a green juice for breakfast, discovered that cauliflower mash is actually pretty yum and even did some yoga. I feel great - this is going to be a breeze.

Day 2:

Woke up feeling pretty good but by lunchtime I had the most awful headache I've ever had. Did approximately no work. Fell asleep on the bus. Cried because the chicken had gone out of date. Not feeling quite so smug.

Day 3:

Snoozed my alarm at least 6 times and had to run for the bus. Green juice leaked all over my handbag. Felt bizarrely full all day - couldn't even finish my lunch. Actually managed to get some work done which was refreshing.

Day 4:

After a long 9 hour sleep I am feeling much more energetic - you might even say cheery. Quite strong sugar cravings though - spend the whole afternoon fantasising about diving head first into the tub of Roses sitting on top of our cupboard. Must move them.

Day 5:

Feeling pretty smug again - today was my first day without a horrendous 3pm slump. Finally perfected the veg juice recipe, although did walk around with broccoli in my teeth all day. You win some, you lose some.

Day 6:

Just when I thought I was getting on top of it, I woke up today absolutely KNACKERED. Didn't manage anything more strenuous than finishing my book and watching Netflix. Did make a pretty delish sugar free Thai curry though!

Day 7:

Finally feeling more like myself today. Even managed to get out for a run for the first time in months! It's amazing how much more productive you can be on a Sunday when you haven't drank a bottle of red wine the night before. Who knew!
