Happy Friday people! Life has been busy lately, and I've been scheduling a lot of my posts in advance. It feels like ages since I last sat down and just wrote something in the moment, so I thought I'd write a little life update for you all. Please forgive my ramblings...
January has felt both long and lazy and incredibly busy at the same time, if that's even possible?! I mean, it feels like Christmas was FOREVER ago, and I've had lots of quiet evenings spent curled up with my book, but at the same time I've also been crazy busy at work and we've made some pretty good progress with big scary exciting things like house buying and wedding planning.
We booked our wedding venue this week which made me feel incredibly grown up! I'm going to start some wedding posts next week so won't write too much about it here, but I'm feeling so excited about the planning process now that we can picture where everything will be taking place. It kind of feels more real and like it's actually happening, if you know what I mean?
Buying our little house on the other hand feels quite the opposite. We've had our mortgage offer through and we're just waiting for the solicitors to work their magic now, but it feels like we've been stuck at the same stage since Christmas pretty much. Even though I know that we should get a completion date in the next couple of weeks, it feels like we're stuck in a bit of a limbo period - it feels too soon to start packing everything up, but at the same time I'm really conscious that everything will be a bit chaotic really soon. Maybe I should just be enjoying the calm before the storm?
I've been plodding on with my diet overhaul - I can't believe it's been nearly 4 weeks already! When my nutritionist first told me about all of the things I would have to cut out I thought it would be nigh on impossible - I mean, 8 weeks without wine?! But actually, now that I'm in a routine, it hasn't been as difficult as I had imagined. And since getting over the sugar withdrawal in the first few weeks I've been feeling SO much better. Pretty much all of my symptoms have cleared up and I've had so much more energy, which is more than I had let myself hope for. It just goes to show how much of an impact the food we put into our body can have on our health - although saying that I really can't wait for a large glass of red and a slab of dark chocolate!
Work has been super busy which has meant I've had to be a bit more forward planned with blog content - I'm pleased that I've still been able to get stuff up regularly but I definitely feel like I'm lacking a bit of a blogging inspiration. I can't tell whether it's because I've been a bit more detached from my blog on a day to day basis, or whether it's just down to the time of year? I haven't been out and about as much as usual and the ideas aren't flowing as easily as usual - but I DO have some super fun collaborations planned for early Feb that I'm excited about. Watch this space!
I'm really looking forward to our impending trips - we're off to London for Valentine's weekend and then Copenhagen a few weeks after. I'm really enjoying being busy at work at the moment (I thrive off having a long to do list!) but I'm definitely looking forward to a bit of downtime with Sam too. It's always great to have a bit of a change of scenery isn't it?!
Anyway, there is my long, rambly life update. What have you all been up to?! I feel so removed from the internet world at the moment and want to hear all about your lives!
