10 favourites this week (#70)

FullSizeRender(3) Morning everyone! Is it just me or are these Mondays rolling around more quickly every week? I'm feeling pretty glad that we have a bank holiday to look forward to next week...

I've had such a lovely weekend with my family which is definitely making Monday feel a little bit harder than usual (and it may also have something to do with the amount of beer we drank in the sunshine on Saturday!) Here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Snapchat

I finally joined the 21st century and got Snapchat, and I am borderline obsessed. I think it might be because I'm a bit nosey - I love seeing all of the unedited, not very Instagrammable (is that a word? If not it should be a word) behind the scenes stuff that doesn't get shared anywhere else. My username is sophiecliff89 - let me know what yours are so I can come follow!

2) Dinner with the girls

On Monday evening I headed to Gusto in Leeds for dinner with two of my lovely friends, Sarah and Teddy. I love having plans on a Monday evening because it definitely helps with the back to work struggle! We had such a nice time eating delicious food, catching up on everything that's been happening in our lives and doing some planning for our trip to Australia in the autumn. I can't wait for us all to be reunited!

3) Mango Snowconut fro-yo

I can't tell you how amazing this stuff is. The sunshine has been giving me a craving for ice cream but I'm still avoiding dairy and sugar which means that I haven't been able to get my fix, so when I saw this in Waitrose last week I knew I had to try it out and I'm so glad I did. It's so creamy and the consistency is so like ice cream and the mango makes it taste like holidays. Definitely worth picking up if you can't have dairy.

4) Nutritionist appointment

On Tuesday I went back to see my nutritionist for a follow up appointment and she was really pleased with my progress and how much my symptoms have reduced. It’s amazing how much better I feel than when I first went to see her 4 months ago and I am so grateful for all of her advice and help to get me to this point. I feel armed with all the right info to keep my health in check moving forward which is such an amazing feeling.

5) Our new blanket

crochet blanket

My lovely Auntie Louise crocheted us this blanket for our new house - isn't it amazing?! She bought the wool for it in Iceland when they visited a couple of months ago and it's really thick and cosy. I can't wait to snuggle up under it while sitting on our armchair reading a book.

6) Fresh shellac

On Saturday morning Mum and I headed into town for a little wander and to get our nails done. I haven't had shellac done for a little while cause we've been trying to save, but my Mum treated me so my nails are looking all lovely again. I chose a nice coral-y/red shade that is making me feel super summery - now I just need the sun to come back!

7) A girls night in

On Friday night my Mum had all the ladies in our family round for a little gathering and it was so lovely to catch up with everyone over a few too many glasses of Prosecco. I also got to have some cuddles with baby Buddy who is 11 weeks old and a total dream! It was such a lovely evening and the best start to the weekend.

8) A sunny pub crawl

The sun was shining on Saturday and we decided to make the most of it with a little pub crawl! We started off at a beer festival at a lovely pub near the canal, headed somewhere else to watch the football and then out for some dinner. It was lovely to hang out with all of the family and get a vitamin D hit (even if I was feeling a little bit delicate after all the beer yesterday!)

9) Cuddles with Ted

Being at home this weekend mean that I got to have loads of hugs with my favourite pooch! Ted is so loveable and happy and I loved sitting in my Dad's armchair having cuddles and kisses with him and napping on the sofa together. I really want to get our own dog sometime soon, but for now Ted is a very good substitute!

10) My Mum's roast chicken dinner

My Mum's roast dinner would be my number one choice for my last meal on earth - seriously, they are AMAZING. Perfect crispy roast potatoes, delicious roast chicken and the best ever gravy - they are something else. I haven't had one for ages so yesterday's tasted even better than usual - perfect Sunday comfort food.
