10 favourites this week (#71)

sunset HAPPY BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY! Aren't bank holidays just THE best??? I've had such a busy, fun-packed weekend and I am so looking forward to just spending today on my Mum and Dad's sofa, eating lots of food and catching up with some blogging. Did you all have a good one?

Here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Dinner at My Thai

my thai leeds

On Monday evening after work, Sam and I headed out for a little impromptu date night. We wanted something cheap and tasty, so we headed up to My Thai and it was SO good. The food in there is always super fresh and great value for money, and it was such a lovely start to the week to catch up properly with my guy.

2) Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt Season 2

I am so happy that Kimmy and Titus are back on Netflix with season 2 - I loved the first season and have thoroughly enjoyed working my way through the new episodes this week. I've still got a couple more to go which I'm planning on watching today - it's just perfect background light-hearted TV. Would definitely recommend if you haven't already watched it!

3) Catching up with old work friends

I had a long overdue catch up with the old gang that I did my graduate scheme with last week and it was so nice to see them! We headed to Cattlegrid for steaks and burgers and chatted about everything - most of us have left the company where we all met so it's always lovely to get together and see how everyone is getting on.

4) My new ASOS body

I don't know why it's taken me so long to hop on the old body train, but I am so glad I did! They are so super flattering for some reason and a lot more comfy than I expected it to be. I'm definitely going to be treating myself to a few more in different colours and will be wearing them all summer long with floaty skirts and denim shorts.

5) Dr Organic Moroccan Glow fake tan

I first saw this recommended on Hannah's blog when she was raving about it, and knowing I needed to have a good fake tanning sesh before going to a wedding this weekend, I decided to head to Holland and Barratt and pick some up. I've always been loyal to Clarin's self tan gel, but this was SO much easier to apply and dried in like 2 minutes. It's definitely going to be my number 1 beauty product for summer.

6) New hair

On Friday night my miracle worker of a cousin, Redmond, came round to do my hair. I never get a say in what I want because he always has an idea in mind, but I never care because he always does such a good job! I'm now pretty much a full blondie, and he cut in some subtle layers which make it feel lovely and bouncy. I LOVE it and feel so lucky that I have a hairdresser who I can fully trust.

7) Bright lipsticks

I picked up a couple of bright lippies in Boots the other week and I've been loving trying them out this week. I am 100% a believer in the fact that putting a slick of bright lipstick on can make you feel invincible for the day - especially when you've got a stressful week at work! I really want to pick up a couple more so if you have any recommendations for ones that last a decent amount of time, let me know.

8) An ace family wedding

On Saturday Sam's cousin got married and we had such a great time! All of the family are dotted all over the country so it was lovely to get together and celebrate with everyone and the whole day was just fab - amazing venue, lovely food and a great band for dancing all night. It definitely got me feeling even more excited for planning ours!

9) Dad's short rib sliders

For a family gathering on Sunday my Dad made the most amazing short rib sliders with a homemade Jack Daniel's sauce. We ate them on brioche buns and they were soooooooo good! My Dad is definitley the chef in our family and everything he makes is amazing, but these were pretty top notch. I might even see if he'll give me the recipe so that I can share it here.

10) Family time

This weekend we've been able to spend some really good quality time with both of our families and it's one of my favourite things to do. I've caught up with my grandparents, chatted to cousins I haven't seen in a while and had cuddles with all of my favourite little people - a pretty perfect weekend in my eyes!
