What I Wore: The Zara Striped Trousers
Another outfit post, another set of stripes. I can't make any promises that this won't be a recurring theme with all of my fashion posts - what can I say, I'm a tad stripe obsessed.
But these Zara striped trousers were too good to resist - culotte length, dreamy fabric, high waisted AND they're pyjama levels of comfy. What's not to love??? I already know that I am going to wear these to death this summer - with heels and a cami for drinks with friends, with t-shirts and Birkenstocks for Saturday's spent pottering around, and perhaps most excitingly, with an oversized jumper for the ultimate comfy long haul flight outfit. And did I mention that they're only £19.99...?
I shot these photos with the lovely Matt last Thursday, and needed an outfit that was smart enough for a day in the office, but didn't look too corporate when I met my friends for dinner and drinks after work. I paired the trousers with my favourite ASOS black body to help balance the proportions, and my favourite lace up black flats (which proved to be a wise choice as I'm not sure I'd have mastered the cobbles in heels - an elegant lady I am not!) My trusty Primark sunnies and denim jacket were back in action, along with a bright red clutch and a slick of lippy to add a pop of colour. I've got a feeling that this will be a go to midweek outfit for me in the coming months.
We wandered around near the river in Leeds taking these photos, and despite me being a bit nervous that it would be totally awkward and embarrassing posing in front of a total stranger, it really wasn't! Matt is an absolute sweetheart and gave me lots of advice on the best ways to pose in order to make everything look as natural as possible, and I was made up with the photos when they arrived in my inbox later that evening. I've already got another shoot booked with him for later this week, and judging from the gushing reviews from other local bloggers, I've got a feeling that he is gonna be a very busy guy...
What do you all think? Are you a culotte fan? Also, let me know if there are any specific looks that you'd like to see - I'm still new to all this fashion-y stuff so any direction would be ace!
