Homeware Lust: Our New Living Room
It's been a while since I've posted anything home/interiors related, and quite frankly it's because we were bloody sick of redecorating after doing the bedrooms. We vowed to leave it a few months before decorating any of the other rooms in the house, but now that I've finally got all the bits of paint out from under my fingernails, I'm itching for a new project. The next room we want to tackle is our living room - thankfully it doesn't need any big jobs like fresh plaster or new carpets like the upstairs rooms did, and we have some pretty cool features to work with, like hardwood floors and a cast iron wood burner. Currently it has some rather old school textured wallpaper and is painted a pretty god awful yellow magnolia shade, but with a bit of freshening up I think it could end up being one of our favourite rooms.
Our plan is to strip the wallpaper and paint the walls in a neutral shade (I'm currently keen on Dulux Almost Oyster) and then add some bright and metallic pops with the accessories. We have some lovely tan leather sofas which we inherited from my parents (thanks Mum and Dad!), so thankfully we aren't restricted in terms of colours.
Here are the pieces I'm currently lusting after - my favourites are definitely the print, the flamingo cushion and the gorgeous gold candlestick! Let me know what yours are...
