My 5 favourite holiday destinations

favourite holiday destinations It's no secret to anyone who regularly reads this blog that I bloody LOVE a good holiday. I can't go longer than 4 or 5 months without jetting off to explore somewhere new, and if I don't have a trip booked then you can guarantee that I'm hooked to Skyscanner researching flights.

I love the excitement of planning a holiday, the giddiness of counting down to it, and of course, that amazing feeling when you have finally reached your destination and have an ice cold beverage in hand. Ahhhhh, bliss.

So today I thought I would share with you my 5 favourite holiday destinations.

Number 5: Paris

sacre coeur paris

disneyland paris

In at number 5 is the wondefully lovely Paris. I love the French capital because it's the perfect place for a romantic break with your partner and equally lovely when enjoyed with a gaggle of girls. Teeming with history, beautiful architecture, great shops and amazing food, you're guaranteed never to be bored in Paris - you could even throw in a trip to Disneyland for some extra excitement!

Number 4: Iceland

reykjavik iceland

geyser iceland

harpa iceland

I never would have thought that Iceland would have been one of my favourite holiday destinations (I'm all about those sunshine vibes!), but when we visited in September I absolutely fell in LOVE. It's a country filled to the brim with mystique and magic and it'll have you marvelling at the power of mother nature. Check out gigantic waterfalls, swim in the Blue Lagoon, and if you're really lucky, watch the Northern lights put on a little show for you.

Number 3: Ibiza

I have to be honest and tell you that I haven't been to Ibiza for bloody ages (which is why these photos are such terrible quality...), but I have some amazing memories of girls holidays spent on that beautiful island. There's a buzz and atmosphere in Ibiza like nowhere else I've ever been - it reminds me of the vibe at a festival, when everyone is in such a great mood and ready to have a good time. Plus it helps that the beaches are stunning and the sunsets are so good they make you want to cry.

Number 2: Barcelona

I've visited Barcelona a couple of times, once with Sam and once on a girls holiday with my uni pals, and both were amazing trips. I love the city and beach combo - it means you have plenty of shops to enjoy (read mega cheap Zara and a giant Sephora) and incredible architecture, but can also squeeze in some time relaxing by the sea. The nightlife is also pretty incredible, and when Cava is the same price as soft drinks, you can't really go wrong, can you?

Number 1: New York

If you've read this blog for any lenght of time, it will come as no surprise to you that New York is my number 1 favourite holiday destination. My love for this city is bordering on obsessional, and I spend a large part of every week daydreaming about being back there. The skyscrapers, the energy, the people, the food - there's just something about New York that has me absolutely hooked. We already have a few holidays planned this year to other parts of the world, but that's not stopping me dreaming about getting to my favourite city for New Year's Eve - anyone got a spare grand to toss my way???

What is your favourite holiday destination? Where should I check out next?
