10 favourites this week (#76)

Happy Monday folks! I'm hoping that you have some of this lovely sunshine and that it's making the start of your week a little bit easier. I'm looking forward to finishing work and heading our for dinner with friends - we've got to make the most of the sun while it lasts, right?! How was your week? Mine was quieter than usual, but pretty lovely. Here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Bank holiday Monday

I've said it before and I'll say it again - all Mondays should be bank holidays in my opinion! I had such a lovely start to the week pottering around our house, doing some wedding planning and making some delicious slow roast belly pork. It was ace to have a bonus day off - I wish we could have them every week.

2) Styling up our fireplace

We have still got so much unpacking and sorting to do in our house, but on Monday I finally got round to styling up our lovely fireplace. I love our faux woodburner and bought loads of little candleholders and trinkets to decorate the fireplace with before we moved in - I'm so happy with how it looks.

3) A team night out

On Tuesday I headed down to London for a couple of team days, and we celebrated all being in the same place at the same time on Tuesday evening with a good old team night out. We gorged on Turkish food, drank Aperol spritzes and caught up on all non-work related matters - it was lovely to laugh and joke with all my colleagues.

4) Our new Anglesey print

When we were in Anglesey last weekend, we picked up this new print for our house. It's by the artist Janet Bell and is a painting of Penmon Point, one of our favourite landmarks on the island - we are hoping to have some of our wedding photos taken in front of that very lighthouse! It goes perfectly in our spare bedroom and it's so nice to have a bit of the seaside at home.

5) Fresh bedding

I got back super late on Wednesday evening and was so tired after a delayed train journey, but I came home to a sparklingly clean kitchen and fresh bedding that had been dried on the line. It's little things like that that make me feel so lucky to have a good egg like Sam <3

6) A really great book delivery

On Thursday, two pretty brilliant books that I had pre-ordered ages ago finally got delivered. I started Laura's book, Becoming, almost immediately and I am racing through it - her writing is just so honest and refreshing! I can't wait to get stuck in to the other one once I've finished it.

7) Joy

On Saturday I finally got round to watching a film that has been on my to watch list for a while - Joy. It stars the amazing Jennifer Lawrence and was the most uplifting, inspiring and heartwarming watch - perfect if you feel like you need a little bit of extra motivation to get going on those big ideas.

8) Sitting in the garden

We spent most of Saturday afternoon in my Mum and Dad's garden - the sun was shining, the beer was cold, and Dad kept feeding us delicious food. It was such a lovely relaxing couple of hours, and it really felt like summertime had arrived - I even managed to catch a bit of sun and some new freckles. I'm hoping we get many more days like this before the summer is out.

9) A good sleep in

I don't know why, but I always manage to have a better night's sleep at my Mum and Dad's house than I do when we're at home, and this weekend was no different. I slept like a total baby all weekend, and managed to have a couple of good sleep ins which almost never happens. I'm hoping it sets me up for a good productive week!

10) Hanging out with family

We spent all of yesterday at my Auntie's house with all of my family - we had a couple of birthdays to celebrate and so the BBQ was fired up, the paddling pool was out and the drinks flowed all day! It was so lovely to catch up with so many of my favourite people and it made me really excited for our family holiday in August - bring it on!
