10 favourites this week (#77)
Happy Monday folks! I am feeling pretty chipper today - I've had one of those lovely weeks that makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. It's been the perfect blend of pottering around our gorgeous house and quality time with some of my favourite people and a good week at work. I feel like things are pretty darned good at the moment. How are you all doing? What have you been up to? Here are my 10 favourites this week...
1) Monday dinner date with the girls
It's hard to remember right now when the weather is doing it's best rainy November impression, but last Monday was pretty glorious in little old Leeds and I had dinner plans with two of my best gals. We ate yummy food and caught up on gossip and it was such a lovely start to the week. Monday plans are always a good idea.
2) Sunny canal runs
The nice weather at the beginning of the week meant that going for a jog along the canal at sunset was actually pretty enjoyable. It was all smiley dog walkers and pretty blooms and countryside loveliness - I swear I would be a much more committed runner if the weather was always nice!
3) Getting some big wedding stuff done
This week has been a good one for wedding planning and we got some big things ticked off the list! We've now booked our marquee and the caterers and it feels like everything is really starting to come together. I can't believe that in a couple of weeks we will be on the 12 month countdown - time has quite literally flown since we got engaged.
4) Good news from friends
This week has been a pretty ace one when it comes to good news from friends - I don't want to say too much but there have been a few texts and messages this week that have made me grin from ear to ear. There's nothing better than seeing the people you love happy and I've been feeling like a very proud friend this week.
5) My very own shoedrobe
One of the things that made me pretty excited about our house was that it had a little cupboard behind the that I instantly knew would make the perfect shoedrobe! This week I finally got around to unpacking all of my shoes and arranging my handbags and seeing them all sitting there so pretty makes me very happy. Maybe I'll finally start wearing something other than the same pair of lace up pumps now!
I'm going to be travelling for work in the next couple of weeks so I've been on the lookout for some workouts that I can do in my hotel room. I saw a few people had been recommending Barre3 and so I decided to give it a little go and I am obsessed! It's a mixture of pilates, yoga and barre and even though it doesn't really feel like you're doing much, I was feeling pretty sore the next day. It's going to be my go to workout of the summer.
7) Hanging out with Mum and Dad
Mum and Dad came to visit us on Thursday evening and it was so so lovely to have them in Leeds. We showed them the sights of Rodley, including drinks on the canal and delicious Turkish food at Ephesus and they helped us with some bits around the house. My Dad and Sam did an ace job of clearing out our little garden and I am so excited to prettify it with some new plants and a couple of deckchairs. Parents are pretty ace, aren't they?!
8) A weekend with one of my besties
On Friday night one of my best friends from uni, Laura, came to stay for the weekend. We drank frozen margs and ate takeaway and reminisced on all of the funny things we got up to when we were students and it was just ace. I wish all of my uni pals would just hurry up and realise that they should move back to Leeds!
9) Bar hopping in Leeds
Laura and I spent Saturday bar hopping around some of my favourite Leeds haunts, including indulging at Belgrave Street Feast and hanging out on the rooftop at Headroom House. Seeing as it was also World Gin Day we felt like it would be rude not to indulge in a cheeky Portobello Road G&T - definitely the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
10) Our new gallery wall
We spent yesterday getting round to doing some of the stuff we haven't had time to do in the house yet, and one of the tasks was hanging all of our prints and pictures. We have a big plain wall in our bedroom that was perfect for a gallery wall and after lots of moving around and reshuffling, I'm really pleased with the results!
