10 favourites this week (#84)

This week has been a week of two halves. The first few days were spent partying in Ibiza, and the last few have been all about relaxing at home. It has been everything I've needed. I can't quite believe it's August today, can you?! This year feels like it's going far, far too quickly. But it's also been one of the best yet, so I can't complain.

Here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Paddle boarding

paddle boardingIt feels like a life time ago, but I actually spent last Monday afternoon paddle boarding on a beautiful beach in Ibiza. It's made my favourites because I was so nervous and never ever thought I'd be able to do it, but I proved myself wrong and actually loved it! It was a much more fun start to the week than being at work, and I felt very lucky to be out on the gorgeous Mediterranean sea instead of Leeds!

2) Partying with David Guetta

IMG_5980We spent Monday night at Ushuaia, partying with the likes of Oliver Heldens and David Guetta. It was totally surreal - think fireworks, gigantic taps, paddling pools and acrobatics in the air - but I can think of no better start to the week. It felt like the perfect summer evening and made me so excited for what we still have to look forward to before autumn rolls around.

3) Thai takeaway

When I got back on Tuesday evening, Sam and I were keen to have a super cosy catch up night in. We decided that instead of cooking we would treat ourselves to a Thai takeway, loads of sofa blankets and some cosy Netflix time and it was the perfect welcome home!

4) Zootropolis

I've been dying to see this film for ages and we finally got our hands on a copy of the DVD this week. It was one of the funniest animated movies I have ever seen and both Sam and I absolutely loved it - definitely one to watch if you're a Disney fan.

5) Free lunch from Pho

On Wednesday, one of my favourite Leeds restaurants, Pho, decided to offer a free lunch to the entire city. The queue from Trinity Kitchen was pretty huge, but it was so worth it for tasty free noodles! Who couldn't be happy about a free lunch?!

6) An epic Waterstones haul

Some girls get a kick from buying clothes and shoes, I get a kick from spending my money on books! On Thursday I headed up to Waterstones and treated myself to some new summer reads and I can't wait to share the reviews with you all. Book shops are literally like my heaven and I hope it always stays that way.

7) Chez Mal and Restaurants of Leeds event

I'm going to write more about this fab event later this week, but I couldn't not mention it in my favourites because I had such a fun time! Rhianna, Bee, Joe and I had the biggest laugh ever while chowing down on delicious food and necking many a glass of champagne. Basically the most fun you could ever have on a Thursday evening!

8) Getting my hair done

IMG_6044On Friday night my lovely cousin Red worked his magic on my hair. He coloured, cutted and dried it until it looked exactly like I hoped I would and I felt super lucky - I absolutely love it! I've had super dark hair for most of my life but now I really love being a blondie.

9) Spending time at home

I've spent this weekend at home and it's been absolutely perfect. I've finished some books I've been reading, visited my grandparents, hung out in my parent's gorgeous garden and devoured my Mum's roast dinner - what more could you ask for!?

10) Sunday afternoon at the beach

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn Sunday we drove out to Crosby beach to walk our family dog - the sun was shining and it was such a lovely afternoon! I'm going to try and write more about our trip this week, but I really enjoyed watching the tide come in and out and breathing in the sea air on a sunny day. Plus the ice cream wasn't half bad!
