Let's Have A Little Catch Up

Hello! It's been a little while, hasn't it? The past few weeks have gone by in a bit of a blur of emotions, and lots has changed. So I thought that instead of jumping straight into my usual style of posts, we should have a little catch up first. This post will probably be a long one, so you might want to grab a cuppa first...

If you've read my previous couple of posts, you'll know that our lives have been turned upside down recently. Losing Blossom has affected us in such a huge and inconceivable way, and we have all changed as a result. It would be impossible to go through something like this and not feel changed I think. I might write more about this in the future, but it's safe to say that I feel like I'm coming at life from a different perspective. My priorities and focus have altered.

One of the things that has changed as a result is our upcoming travel plans. Some of you know that we were due to be in Rome this weekend, but it felt far too soon to be flying away anywhere, so we have rescheduled our trip for November instead. Thank you for everyone who left us some tips on this post - they will definitely come in handy and I am really looking forward to a little break later in the year when we are feeling a bit more ready for it.

We have also decided to cancel our trip to Sydney too, after much deliberation. It was a hard decision because we were due to go with all of our friends and we were really looking forward to visiting Steph and Seb, but Aus just feels way too far away from my family right now. Both Sam and I knew that we wouldn't be able to enjoy it fully at the moment so we have cancelled our flights, which means that October has turned from a super busy month to a much quieter one.

We're thinking that we might try and get away on our own for a couple of days somewhere local. I'm thinking a cosy cottage -ideally with a hot tub and roaring fire - where we can totally switch off and recuperate. If anyone has any suggestions of places to go then leave me a little comment and let me know!

That's not to say that we'll be sitting around twiddling our thumbs for the next couple of months. We'll be spending lots of time with family and have three weddings coming up soon too - I can't wait to watch some of our favourite people get married. And we've still got lots to sort for our own wedding, from organising some of the finer details to cracking on with the DIYs - we definitely need to take a trip or two to Anglesey before Christmas rolls around.

We also want to try and get a bit more done in the house before autumn is over. We have some little finishing touches to sort for our bedrooms to make them feel properly "done" - things that we haven't got round to yet, like hanging pictures and curtains. And we also want to try and redecorate our living room in the next couple of months so that it's nice and cosy ready for winter. I'm already dreaming about curling up on the sofa with the fire on and not having to look at ugly wallpaper!

From a blogging perspective I feel like I've got a fresh burst of motivation. I have never been more determined to make a success of this little blog and see where it could take me, and I'll be ramping things up again in the next couple of weeks. I'm armed with lots of ideas and a brand new MacBook Air - watch this space!

I think that's about it, sorry for this being a bit of a rambly word vomit post - it's pretty much just a download from where my brain is at at the mo.

So tell me - what have you been up to? What have I missed while I've been gone? And what do you have planned for autumn?
