10 favourites this week (#91)

I can't believe that I've nearly written 100 of these posts. I am seriously rubbish at sticking to any kind of hobby, so the fact that this little blog is nearly 2 years old and still going astounds me. I'm so glad I started writing these posts - they're my little record of everything that has happened in the last 2 years. I know that it will mean so much to me one day to be able to look back and relive so many memories, and for that reason alone, I know I will keep writing them.

So without further ado, here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Katie Loxton Sweet Orange & Mango Candle

We bought this candle absolutely ages ago when we visited the giant John Lewis in York but we've been so busy this summer that I haven't really got round to burning it. I've had it lit pretty much every evening this week while I've been doing blog work in our attic room, and oh my god, I LOVE IT. The smell is so divine and the room smells lovely for ages afterwards. I'm already worried about running out - I'll definitely be asking for a replacement for Christmas!

2) Feeling very inspired on the blog front

This week I've been full of inspiration and ideas for this little space. I really want to throw myself into my the blog between now and Christmas and see what I can achieve and I've definitely been doing that this week. Plus my new lens has given me lots of fresh new photography inspo. Watch this space...

3) A lovely catch up with the girls

On Wednesday evening I met the girls I used to work with for a cheap dinner, a beer and a catch up. They are all absolutely hilarious and had me belly laughing like I haven't done for absolutely ages - it was just what the doctor ordered. Plus I got to eat the most delicious steak sandwich which was just the icing on the cake!

4) A good week at work

After a weird couple of months, I'm finally feeling properly back into the groove of things at work. I've got lots of exciting projects coming up and things are about to get really busy for the winter period which I always enjoy - I'm definitely someone who prefers being busy to being bored! I also bought myself a huge new notebook this week and got myself all organised and planned which always makes me feel better.

5) Our Girl finale

Our Girl has been the first TV show that I've actually watched in real time (as opposed to binge watching on Netflix) in absolutely ages and I have really loved it. I rushed home on Wednesday to make sure I was snuggled up in bed with a cup of tea ready for the finale and I really enjoyed it - I'm so glad they're making another season.

6) Hanging out with my fave little people

I've been spoilt this week with lots of time hanging out with my favourite little people. They are all so cute and funny and have us in stitches with the things they say. I'm really grateful to have been able to spend so much time with them recently and I can't wait to make even more memories together in Disneyland Paris - something tells me I'm going to need an extra memory card for all of the photos!

7) Getting my hair done

On Saturday afternoon I went to my cousin's fab shop, The Blow Bar, for a much needed hair cut and blow dry. Getting my hair done never fails to make me feel 100% better and I was swooshing it around all day. We also talked about potential wedding hair which was making me very excited!!!

8) Cake and catch ups at my Nan's house

After having my hair done I went and spent a couple of hours at my Nan's house with her and my Auntie Jackie. We put the world to rights over cream cakes and a cup of tea and it was just lovely. They both had me laughing my head off and I no matter how bad I feel when I get to my Nan's, I always leave feeling a little bit lighter.

9) Starting my Christmas shopping

I can't believe I'm actually saying this but I bought my first couple of Christmas pressies this weekend! I'm determined not to leave it all to the last minute this year so that I can enjoy the run up rather than panicking, and I must admit that I'm feeling a bit smug about my levels of organisation...

10) A family trip to Blackpool

Yesterday afternoon we all piled into the cars and drove out to Blackpool for the afternoon/evening. I'm going to write a full post later this week so that I can share all my pictures, but we had such a lovely time and spend the day laughing our heads off. The kids absolutely loved it (and us big kids may have loved the waltzers a little bit too much...!)
