A Health Update - Half Way Through My Symprove Experience

Regular readers might remember this post from the end of September where I talked about reprioritising my health. As well as trying to eat a little better and move a bit more, I had also decided to give Symprove a go. I'm now over half way through my 12 week course, so I thought I'd pop back in and give you all a little update. I opted for the Mango & Passionfruit flavour and have been taking it every morning. It's much easier to take than previous bacteria based supplements I've tried before as it's already made up into a liquid that you just measure out and drink. I must say that it tastes A LOT better than some of the others I've tried too!

I'm really happy to tell you all that my IBS symptoms have been minimal to non-existent, which is very impressive considering that I've been having a bit of a turbulent time emotionally. Usually as soon as I start to feel a little bit stressed or anxious my stomach starts to misbehave and cause me agony, so the fact that it hasn't been giving me any bother is nothing short of a miracle.

I was still suffering with a bit of bloating which I was a bit miffed about (nobody wants to look like their 6 months pregnant every time they eat), but since cutting out coffee early last week it has been much better. That's the annoying thing about IBS - you never really know if your symptom is triggered by a certain food or drink or if it's all just par for the course.

Another positive side effect of Symprove that I think is worth mentioning is the fact that I haven't been poorly since the weather has changed. Everyone in my office has had a cough and cold, so when I woke up with a sniffly nose a couple of weeks ago I was almost certain I'd caught it. However, the following day I woke up feeling right as rain! My immune system is usually pretty naff at this time of year, but I think the extra dose of good bacteria must be contributing to all round better health.

I've also been feeling like I've got a bit more energy too which means I've been able to get back into the swing of exercise. I've been enjoying swimming and yoga - nice gentle stuff that feels more like a treat than a punishment! I honestly think I'd be really struggling to do any exercise at all if my IBS symptoms were still as bad as they were as it was making me feel so wiped, so this has been a real win.

I'll check in again at the end of my Symprove trial, but so far I am really happy! If everything continues to go the way it has done then I'm pretty sure I'll be starting 2017 feeling much healthier.

*I have been gifted a 12 week course of Symprove in exchange for an honest review of my experience, but as ever, all opinions (and bloated tummy) are my own.
