My 2017 Travel Plans and Dreams

One of the things I am most excited about in 2017 is getting to travel more. 2016 was an odd year for me travel wise - I got to visit some pretty ace places, but a lot of our plans changed unexpectedly too. I feel like next year is going to be a good'un though - we have some stuff booked already and I have a list of plans longer than my arm. Here are my 2017 travel plans and dreams...

Berlin

This is one of the trips we already have booked - we're heading to Berlin in February and I really can't wait! We visited in 2012 and fell in love with the place so I can't wait to explore more of the city. Plus we have tickets to go and see Bon Iver at the Tempodrom which will be ace.

The South of France

In August we are heading to the South of France for my best friend's wedding. It's a place that has been on my bucket list for so long and the fact that we'll be there to celebrate with our friends will make the trip even better. We have booked a gorgeous villa and I am already looking forward to the sunshine...

Copenhagen

Sam will be turning 30 in August and we are planning to head back to Copenhagen for the brand new Haven festival. It's taking place during Sam's birthday weekend and one of our favourite bands are set to headline. Plus it will be fun to visit Copenhagen when it's not freezing cold!

Our Honeymoon

We haven't quite decided what we're going to do for this yet, but we're thinking of breaking it into two separate trips - a minimoon straight after the wedding and a honeymoon later in the year. Our current thinking is that we'll have our minimoon somewhere in Europe (I'm dreaming about Santorini or Sorrento!) and then an American road trip in September/October time. We can't decide whether to do East Coast or West Coast - what do you think?

UK

One of the things I've loved about 2016 is how much UK travel we've managed to squeeze in. I want to continue with this next year - we already have a trip to London booked for January and I'd love to plan a few more UK city breaks. Edinburgh, Bristol and Cardiff are all on my list- where else would you recommend?

Solo Travel

One of my 2017 resolutions is to take a solo trip. I've travelled alone for work before, but I've never taken a solo trip just for fun. I think it would be really fun way of getting out of my comfort zone and might give me a different travel perspective. I'm not sure where I'd like to go yet - again, any recommendations would be welcome!

What are your travel plans looking like for 2017?
