10 favourites this week (#101)

Happy Monday everyone! Today is a particularly happy one because it's my last Monday in work this year - woohoo! I finish work for Christmas on Wednesday and then I have 12 whole days off. I can't wait - I'm not sure I've ever felt so ready for a bit of down time.

This last week has been a funny one. It's been filled with lots of happy moments, but this time of year is also so hard when you're missing someone, so there has been a fair share of tears too. But these posts are for focussing on the good stuff, so here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) A Very Murray Christmas

On Monday night Sam and I lit all the candles and got on the sofa to watch one of our fave Christmas films - A Very Murray Christmas. If you haven't seen it before you should definitely give it a watch - it stars Bill Murray, Amy Poehler, Miley Cyrus and George Clooney, and is generally just great. Plus it's on Netflix- win.

2) Christmas dinner with the girls

On Tuesday evening I met some of my friends from my old work for Christmas dinner and a catch up. It was so lovely to see them (they really are the funniest girls ever) and the food was amazing too! Plus we did Secret Santa and my friend bought me a Chinese takeaway voucher, so I've basically already won at Christmas.

3) Getting my pressies wrapped

Processed with VSCO with hb2 presetI've spent a couple of evenings this week getting all my Christmas pressies wrapped and I'm pretty much done now. I love wrapping presents because it makes me all excited about giving them to all my favourite people - giving gifts is so much more rewarding than receiving them, isn't it?

4) The advent running community

I've written already about how encouraging the advent running community is, but they have all been so incredibly supportive of me this week. After a rough couple of days loads of lovely people who are technically strangers sent me encouraging messages and  love and got me back out the door, and BOY did I feel better for it.

5) Getting started with our honeymoon planning

img_2725This week we have started having a little think about our honeymoon and have been doing a little bit of research which has been so fun! Plus I treated myself to this very fitting swimsuit - we may be a while off yet, but I couldn't resist snapping up while it was half price...

6) A lovely evening with my blogging ladies

On Friday night I headed over to Beverley's flat with a few of my other favourite Leeds blogging ladies for a festive evening and it was so fun. We ate lots of cheese and pigs in blankets, drank prosecco and laughed A LOT - it was basically the perfect night in! I always feel so lucky to have made some ace friends through this little blog.

7) An afternoon in Ilkley

On Saturday afternoon Sam and I fancied getting out for some fresh air so we took a little drive out to Ilkley. We stocked up on Christmas presents for the grandparents at Betty's (plus a couple of treats for us, of course) and went for a yummy late lunch at The Moody Cow. I love how close we are to so many cute little Yorkshire towns.

8) A super yummy brunch

fullsizerender-13I love going out for brunch but what I love even more is eating something super yummy while still in my PJs, so I was a very happy lady when Sam knocked this yummy avo toast up yesterday. It was just as delicious as anything we'd have eaten in a restaurant, and I didn't even have to get dressed.

9) Skyping Steph

Yesterday morning the girls and I had a Skype with our lovely Steph who lives in Australia. It was so nice to see her face and catch up on what she's been up to, although I was a little bit jealous when she was talking about how sunny and warm it is there at the moment!

10) A mega Christmas clean

Okay, so I definitely didn't love this at the time of doing it, but how nice is it when your house is lovely and clean and everything is in it's right place? I wanted to get everywhere tidy before we go home for Christmas and so Sam and I did an epic clean yesterday and now my house looks gorgeous.
