10 favourites this week (#107)

We did it you guys, we made it to the last Monday of January! I feel like this month has been a weird one - it feels like it's gone super quickly, but I've also managed to squeeze so much in. Also, doesn't Christmas feel like FOREVER ago?! Anyway, last week was crazy. It was probably the busiest work week I've had in over a year and I spent pretty much all of it in meetings. I hope that this week is a little bit calmer and I'm really looking forward to heading off to Berlin at the weekend for a bit of down time.

There was still plenty of time for fun stuff too though - here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Dog sitting

This was our second week of dog sitting and we have thoroughly enjoyed it! It's been so lovely to come home to someone who is so excited to see you and I've been loving all of the puppy cuddles too. Our house will seem a lot quieter this week without him and I'll miss having a little sofa buddy.

2) Catching up with family

We had Sam's brother and his girlfriend round for dinner on Tuesday evening and it was so nice to catch up with them. I feel really lucky that we have some family here in Leeds and even though we don't see each other nearly enough, it's always lovely when we do!

3) My slow cooker

I realise that this is an incredibly middle aged thing to have on my favourites list, but I have totally fallen in love with my slow cooker over the past few weeks! It's so amazing to come home to your dinner already cooked and your house smelling totally delicious - plus it's a really easy way to cook up some healthy food.

4) Giving our wedding invites out

We've been giving out and posting our wedding invites this week which has been SO much fun! I've loved seeing people's faces as they open them and I think getting RSVPs must just be the most exciting thing ever! Roll on the rest of the wedding fun to come over the next few months...

5) Watermelon

This is my most recent food obsession (and I'm pretty glad it's a healthy one for a change!). It's so refreshing and sweet and I think I've eaten it at least once every single day this week. I can't wait for the weather to get a little bit warmer so that I can whip up some watermelon and feta salads!

6) Eating Nandos takeaway in bed

I was in London for work overnight on Wednesday and after a really long day of meetings I had zero energy to traipse back out for dinner. So instead I ordered a Nandos on Deliveroo and devoured it while tucked up in my big comfy hotel bed while watching TV. It was bliss and just what I needed.

7) My sister bought a house!

This was a VERY exciting thing that happened this week - my little sister and her boyfriend bought their first home together! We went to visit yesterday and it was lovely to see them so happy and content. Plus they now live just outside of Manchester they're even closer to Leeds which makes me very happy.

8) A fab girls day out

FullSizeRender 25For my birthday this year the girls told me they were treating me to a day out instead of a pressie, which meant I spent this Saturday feeling like a total princess! They took me for lunch and spritzes and we shopped to our heart's content - it was bliss. I definitely want more girls days out this year.

9) Buying some new wedding make up

While we were out shopping I picked up a couple of new make up bits to try out for the wedding. I got a new NARS foundation (which I am already totally obsessed with!) and a lovely Stila liquid lipstick which I think may just be my perfect bridal shade. Weddings are definitely the best excuse for make up splurging!

10) Seeing my Mum and Dad

My mum and dad have spent the last few weeks on a Caribbean cruise and they finally got home yesterday. They have had a really lovely time but I am so glad to have them home - I speak to my Mum every single day so I've missed them so much while they've been away. It was so nice to have a good old catch up with them last night and hear all about their fab holiday.
