10 favourites this week (#114)
How is it Monday again already?! I can't be the only one who feels like this weekend went way too fast right? I feel like I was just about getting into the swing of it, and then whaddya know, it's Sunday evening already! That said, I can't complain as I've had loads of lovely moments this week and have some more fun planned for the next couple of days too. Here are my 10 favourites this week...
1) Spring evening runs
Who else is loving these lighter evenings that we've been enjoying? I've been making the most of them by trying to get out for some sunny spring runs along the canal and despite being pretty unfit, I've been thoroughly enjoying them. Long may the nice weather last!
2) Chicken Caesar salad
The return on spring means the return of spring dinners and one of mine and Sam's all time faves is a good old chicken Caesar salad! We've enjoyed it a couple of times this week - it's so easy to make but is super yum too, and any salad than involves cheese is a winner in my books.
3) Booking flights to Toulouse and Madrid
One of my besties is getting married in the south of France this summer and we finally got round to booking our flights this week. We'll have a few days in rural France for the wedding before spending an evening in Toulouse and then flying on to Madrid for a couple of days. I can't wait for some European sunshine!
4) Dinner at Cielo Blanco
One of my colleagues was up visiting from our London office this week so we took her to my all time favourite Leeds restaurant - Cielo Blanco! We enjoyed loads of yummy Mexican food and a couple of beers while putting the world to rights - it was such a fun way to spend a Wednesday.
5) The new Laura Marling album
I've loved Laura Marling ever since I heard New Romantic when I was 16 or 17 and have seen her live countless times. So many of her songs have been the soundtrack to me growing up, so I was so chuffed to finally have some time to listen to her new album this week. Its absolutely beautiful and I think it may just be the best one yet!
6) A lovely Friday evening
I headed straight to Friends of Ham when I finished work on Friday evening for a couple of glasses of wine and a good old catch up with one of my best friends, Teddy. We followed it up with beers and street food at Bundobust and it was the perfect way to get the weekend started.
7) Watching Gossip Girl from the beginning
In preparation for our upcoming trip to New York, I thought it would be only right to start watching Gossip Girl right from the very beginning! I've had so much fun watching all of the drama from the very first episode this weekend and it got me very excited about being back in my fave place in the whole wide world.
8) Our engagement shoot
On Saturday afternoon Sam and I met the very lovely Jenna and Ewan for our engagement shoot. It was great to meet them both and get to know them a little bit and we both actually enjoyed having our photos taken which is a huge credit to how relaxed they made us feel. Hopefully I'll be able to share some photos with you all soon.
9) A humongous spring clean
Okay, so cleaning the house isn't the most exciting thing in the world but isn't it amazing when everything is all sparkly and lovely afterwards?! We got rid of so much stuff and did lots of DIY and sorting bits that we've been putting off for ages. I'm now fully in love with our little old house again!
10) A perfect Sunday afternoon
We hosted a little family dinner for Sam's brother, his girlfriend and our little nephew yesterday and we thoroughly enjoyed it! I whipped up a roast dinner and some creme egg brownies and Sam and I took it in turn to have ALL the cuddles with little Ralf. It was such a lovely way to spend Sunday and I'm looking forward to lots more family dinners in the not so distant future.
