Wedding Talk (#6): What I've Been Buying For My Hen Do, Wedding & Honeymoon

So, I did a little Twitter poll the other week to see what you guys would like to see more of on this blog, and a couple of people requested some more wedding updates. And as I aim to please, I thought I'd bring these wedding talk posts back in the run up to the big day (which is now only 10 weeks away and how the hell did that happen?!) I thought I'd start today by showing you some of the bits I've been buying for my hen do, wedding and honeymoon. I've been gradually picking up bits here and there over the past 3 or 4 months and I've now got a nice little pile of "do not touch until the wedding" stuff taking over our spare bedroom.

Some of these bits might be useful for anyone else who is wedding planning, but there's also plenty of general fashion stuff in there for anyone on the lookout for some summer outfit inspo...

What I've Been BuyingHen Do

So let's start with the hen do. In two weeks time I'll be heading to Jollydays with all of my favourite ladies for a weekend of glamping fun and I can't wait!

My amazing sister has planned it all so I don't know much about we'll be getting up to, but I've been told to take something festival-esque to wear on the Sunday. I picked up this dress from Boohoo - I love the tassels on it and the fact that it's white makes it even better! I thought I could re-wear this on summer holidays with a nice tan too.

I'm still on the lookout for some wellies and accessories - I'm thinking that I may need to invest in this baby pink anorak just in case the British weather doesn't play ball!

There's been lots of bits and pieces to buy for the wedding, from things to decorate the marquee with through to the all important outfit accessories.

One of my favourite buys has been this gorgeous personalised cake topper from Not On The High Street - it's gold and glittery, what's not to love?! I've also been hunting out lots of bits in charity shops - from beautiful glass cake stands to frames that we can decorate and personalise.

I'm totally in love with these bride pyjamas that I ordered from Misguided - the quality is fab and I can't wait to be waking up on our wedding day wearing them. They've got a whole host of wedding stuff on Missguided, so it's well worth having a little root around.

From an accessories perspective, I have the shoes sorted! My lovely sister bought me these incredible gold Kurt Geiger sandals - aren't they just beautiful?! I seriously love them and I know I'll get loads of wear out of them after the wedding too.  I'm still on the hunt for a pair of flat shoes for dancing in - I want something sparkly and gold, so hook a girl up if you've seen anything recently.

I'm not planning on wearing much jewellery on the day, but I would like a dainty gold bangle - I'm thinking maybe something like this. Other than that, I'll just be donning my favourite pair of earrings and letting the dress do the talking!

A few days after the wedding we'll be heading to New York for our honeymoon and I've been picking up some bits to take with us.

I seem to have bought not one, but two red midi dresses, including this gorgeous one from ASOS (which FYI is in the sale and such a bargain!). I feel like I *may* be subconsciously trying to dress like the red lady emoji, but how babin' will this dress look with my wedding shoes for cocktails on a rooftop bar in New York???

I also picked up a pair of black espadrilles which I thought would be a good stylish yet comfy option for strolling around the city in the heat - plus they go with just about everything, so a definite summer staple!

And finally, othing I haven't bought yet but am very tempted by is this cute wifey jumper from Etsy - I can't decide whether I need it or if it's verging on cringe, what do you think!? I was thinking that paired with jeans it could make a cute travelling outfit.
