10 favourites this week (#119)
Happy Monday everyone! How are you all today? I have to admit that I'm feeling a bit miffed that we have to work 5 days this week - I've been spoilt by the bank holidays and annual leave in the past few weeks! I'm also eagerly counting down to my hen do which is this weekend - I really can't believe how quickly it's come round! I can't wait to hang out with all of my favourite ladies for a couple of days, it will be all sorts of brilliant.
Anyway, before I started getting excited about the week ahead, I need to tell you about last week. It was totally, utterly brilliant and I wish I could rewind to relive it all again!
Here are my 10 favourites this week...
1) Gorgeous walks on Anglesey
We started the week at one of my favourite places in the world, Anglesey, and were blessed with some sunshine after a pretty gloomy weekend. We managed to squeeze in a couple of walks in some of the most gorgeous parts of the island and it was lovely to catch up properly with Sam while taking in all of the pretty views. I'm really hoping that the sun shines for our wedding in June so that our guests get to experience Anglesey in all it's glory.
2) Seeing our wedding church in the sun
One of the walks took us past the church we'll be getting married at and it was amazing to see it in the sunshine for the first time! It's crazy to think we'll be back again in just over 8 weeks to officially tie the knot - time is passing by at such a crazy rate at the moment.
3) Drinks by the canal
When we got back to Leeds on Tuesday evening the sun was shining and we weren't quite ready to switch out of holiday mood, so we went for a little stroll along the canal and stopped for a beer. It was such a lovely way to spend an hour or two and reminded me of why we first fell in love with our village when we moved her a few years ago.
4) A little trip to Shake Shack
On Friday I headed down to London and I treated myself to my favourite indulgence - a Shake Shack burger! They are my absolute favourite and are always top of the list whenever Sam and I visit New York, so it was great to enjoy one without the 8 hour flight beforehand. Just look how delicious it looks - I could eat it again right now!
5) Attending the UK Blog Awards
On Friday night I had the pleasure of attending the UK Blog Awards as a finalist in the lifestyle category. I had the best evening hanging out with Vix, Laila and Emma (mostly pretending we were Little Mix on the dance floor) and it was made even better by receiving the highly commended award in my category. Thank you so much if you were one of the people who voted for me all those months ago, it really does mean the world!
6) Staying at The Hoxton
My whole UK Blog Awards experience was made even better by the fact that I was staying at The Hoxton which is a super cool and trendy hotel. I'll be putting a full review together over the next couple of weeks but I thoroughly enjoyed getting ready for the awards there and then sleeping off all of the fun in the most incredible bed. It's safe to say I'll be back again soon!
7) Visiting the Sky Garden
I spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with some of my best friends in London and the first location on our itinerary was the Sky Garden. It was such a cool place and the views out over London were incredible - plus the bar at the top made a mean Aperol spritz. It was such a fun way to start the day and I would definitely recommend trying to get tickets if you're ever in town.
8) Afternoon tea at the London EDITION
We were celebrating my friends birthday while we were down in London and we took her to the EDITION hotel for a special afternoon tea treat. We indulged in the Scandal Water tea and it was just fab - amazing cocktails, lovely tea and delicious foodie goodness. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and are already planning a trip back again soon!
9) An evening at Dinerama
We spent Saturday evening at Dinerama in Shoreditch and it was so much fun! It's such a super hip place, complete with neon lights, trendy bars and street food stands galore. We ate some yummy food and drinks, including some delicious sticky chicken and a vodka slushy (because I'm such a grown up) - I'm dying to take Sam next time we're in London.
10) Cheering on the runners at the London marathon
Yesterday we headed out early to get a good spot to cheer on the runners at the London marathon. It was such an amazing experience - the atmosphere was totally electric and it felt quite emotional. It made me feel a bit nostalgic about my old running days (once upon a time I actually ran two marathons!) - maybe it's time for me to lace the trainers up again...
