What I Wore: The Anthropologie Edit

I can still remember the first time I set foot in an Anthropologie store - Sam and I were on holiday in New York and in a jetlagged haze I stumbled into a shop on 5th Avenue. It was love at first sight. It was the most gorgeous shop I'd ever been in. The visual merchandising was insane, more like some sort of delicately put together art installation than a store window. The stationery was to die for - buttery leather notebooks and pretty floral prints. The candles smelt like heaven. The jewellery was dainty and delicate and pretty. And the clothes, well they were all gorgeous - perfect cuts mixed with on trend prints. I was obsessed.

I spent a small fortune in Anthropologie that day and on returning to the UK, I made every effort to visit their Regent Street branch for my fix whenever I was in London. So you can imagine how excited I was when I found out that they were opening a store in Leeds last year - I squealed so loudly that I actually made Sam jump.

the anthropologie editThe Leeds store is just as beautiful as any Anthropologie I have been into in New York or London - located in the stunning Victoria Gate, it has two floors that house endless amounts of goodies. It's always the first place I head to whenever I have a gift to buy and I'm yet to leave empty handed. Whether you want to spend £10 or £100, you'll always find the perfect gift for your recipient, from pretty homewares to delicately embellished accessories.

My cupboards are stuffed full of their amazing mugs, my passport is nestled within one of their gorgeous leather covers and I wear a pair of their pretty earrings most days. So when an email from their lovely editor dropped into my inbox the other day asking me if I'd like to collaborate with them, it was a bit of a "pinch me" moment. Obviously I said yes immediately.

anthropologie jumpsuitI was tasked with heading to their Leeds store and putting an outfit together to share with you guys - I know, I know, tough gig, right?! As soon as I walked into the shop my eyes were drawn to this gorgeous jumpsuit which embraces two of my current fave styles - culottes and a bardot ruffle neckline. I love the way the nipped in waist balances out the wide leg and doesn't that print just scream summer holiday? I can't wait to wear it in a more exotic location than Leeds later in the year.

One thing I love about Anthropologie is the vast array of quirky accessories they sell - it's the sort of stuff you can guarantee you're not going to bump into anyone else wearing. I opted for a pair of Kaibosh sunglasses which I know I'll get a lot of wear out of - the shape is perfect and I love that they're navy rather than black. And then to set the look off I picked up this pretty embellished bag - isn't it just a thing of beauty?! I feel like it brings a bit of glamour to the outfit and the fact that it has so many colours in it means it will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe - score.
