What I Wore: A New York Date Night
It's been a really long time since I've shared a little outfit post on here, hasn't it? Truth be told, between long days at work and doing all the final prep for the wedding, I just haven't had time to go out and shoot any photos. But I really want to make them more of a focus around here moving forward - they're one of my favourite type of posts to put together and you guys always seem to enjoy them too. So with that in mind, we shot a couple of outfits while we were in New York - I just had to make the most of those gorgeous city backdrops!
Today's post is all about the outfit I wore for a date night in the city last Friday. It was my ideal kind of Friday night - we had a yummy dinner at Eataly before enjoying a couple of uh-mazing cocktails at The Nomad and then walked home with a view of the Empire State building all lit up for the holiday weekend. Pretty dreamy, huh?
And this ASOS dress couldn't have been more perfectly suited to our evening - the fabric is light enough to withstand those summer in the city temperatures and the shape of it felt pretty flattering, even after consuming a gigantic bowl of pasta.
I added a couple of my favourite simple accessories, including my trusty Celine sunnies (the easiest way to add instant chic!) and an old vintage leather handbag. And then, the shoes. Oh my word am I in love with the shoes...
Aren't they just gorgeous?! They were the flats I wore on the evening of the wedding (I also had the heeled version for the ceremony which I love even more!) and I think they might be the prettiest pair of sandals I have ever owned. They instantly add a bit of sass to any outfit an they were the perfect shoe for being comfy yet still feeling glam while we were in New York.
What do you think of this outfit? Would you like to see more outfit posts?
