10 favourites this week (#146)

Happy Monday everyone! I am so excited to tell you all about my favourites today because I've just had the loveliest week ever. The combination of my birthday celebrations and some epic travels has made it extra special and as I sit and write this, I'm feeling like such a lucky lady. So let's just get stuck in shall we? Here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) A pre-birthday pamper

I spent Monday evening having a lovely pre-birthday pamper. I had a hot bath (complete with my fave Neom bath foam), applied a face mask and smothered myself in all of my favourite moisturisers and beauty products. It was lovely, and made me feel a little bit less apprehensive about turning another year older!

2) A super lovely birthday

Tuesday marked my 28th birthday, and what a bloody lovely one it was. I was absolutely spoilt with gorgeous pressies (Sam totally nailed it with some epic goodies), plenty of birthday wishes and not one, but TWO, Colin the Caterpillar cakes. If that's not winning then I don't know what is.

3) Curry night with our pals

On top of all the birthday loveliness mentioned above, I was also lucky enough to spend the evening celebrating with our pals over a curry. I went off curry for a little while after a food poisoning incident last Christmas, but it's safe to say that I'm back on the Indian food hype and thoroughly enjoyed the yummy grub at Aagrah.

4) Doing bath time with my nephew

Our little nephew seems to be growing up in the blink of an eye (I can't believe he's 9 months old already!) and every time I see him he seems to be bigger, so I really cherish being able to spend time with him doing little things like dinner and bath time while he's still a bubba. Plus, his little giggly smiles are the perfect antidote for the midweek blues.

5) Watching Peaky Blinders

All of the advertising for the new series of Peaky Blinders reminded Sam and I that we still hadn't watched season 3, so we've been working our way through that on BBC iPlayer this week. I forgot how much of a great TV show it is, and let's just say that I'm crushing on Tommy Shelby more than ever before...

6) Dinner at Horto

After work on Thursday we headed across to Harrogate and checked into the beautiful Rudding Park. I'll be writing more about our stay later in the week, but I had to mention our dinner at Horto as part of this week's faves as it was amazing. Sam and I both had the tasting menu accompanied by the drinks pairing, and honestly, it was one of the best meals we have ever had. I'm still dreaming about it now!

7) Relaxing at Rudding Park spa

As well as eating loads of good food and drinking alllll the good wine at Rudding Park, we also did some top relaxing at their epic spa. We chilled in the sauna and swam in the rooftop infinity pool, but my absolute highlight was the incredible hot stone massage that I was treated to on Thursday evening. Just what I needed after a crazy busy couple of weeks.

8) Exploring Edinburgh

As you'll probably know if you follow me on Instagram, I spent the rest of the weekend exploring bonny Edinburgh. This was my first trip to the Scottish capital in over 7 years, and our first trip there together, and we had a fine old time. We walked the feet off ourselves, marvelled at all of the beautiful architecture and ate some really yummy food. Winning weekend all round.

9) Getting festive at the Christmas markets

Of course, while we were in Edinburgh, we had to take a little trip to their Christmas markets too. They had only just opened this weekend so the atmosphere was great and it was so ace to wander around all the different little areas. There were fairy lights a plenty, a gorgeous ice skating rink and I may have had my first Bailey's hot chocolate of the season.

10) A cosy Sunday evening at home

After an exciting but busy old week, I was craving a cosy night in at home and that's exactly what we enjoyed last night. Sam made his epic sausage and mash (one of my favourite meals in the world, ever), we lit all of the candles and curled up under a blanket on the sofa with the cat. It was bliss, and just what I needed to gear up for another busy week ahead.

How has your week been? Have you had a good one?
