10 favourites this week (#147)
Hello everyone! Can you believe it is Monday again already?! I feel like I blinked and the weekend disappeared before my eyes, but it was a really great weekend so I can't complain. I've got a super busy week ahead of me with loads of work to plough through, but I'm already excited about making my house look super festive at the weekend! Has anybody already put their tree up yet?
Anyway, before I get carried away with next week's plans, I should probably tell you about this weeks favourites. Here goes...
1) Getting back to the gym
It's been a long time since I've put my gym membership to good use, but this week I finally put my trainers on and got back on the treadmill! Life has been crazy busy recently, but I managed to squeeze in two trips to the gym this week and I feel all the better for it - hopefully I'll be able to get back into a routine before the January madness starts.
2) Making a dent in my Christmas shopping
Despite starting my Christmas shopping a couple of weeks ago, I hadn't actually made much of a stab in my list, but this week I managed to rectify that. I've almost finished now, so hopefully I'll be able to pick the last few bits up this week and start wrapping them all next weekend. I bloody love buying pressies for people so I've been in my element choosing gifts!
3) Reading The Christmas Chronicles
I picked up The Christmas Chronicles by Nigel Slater a couple of weeks ago and I've been thoroughly enjoying working my way through it - it's making me feel so appreciative for the season and is helping me to embrace everything that comes with winter and the festive period. I'd definitely recommend if you're the kind of person who likes to read cook books.
4) Beautiful Bloom & Wild flowers
I came home from work on Tuesday to the most gorgeous surprise of a box of Bloom & Wild flowers sitting on my doormat from my lovely friend Sarah. I've never had any Bloom & Wild flowers before, but I was blown away by just how beautiful they were - they've been making me smile every time they catch my eye.
5) Seeing the Coca Cola truck
I popped into Asda on my way home from work the other night only to find the real life Coca Cola truck pulled up outside the supermarket. The "holidays are coming"song was blasting super loudly and it gave me a little shiver of festive excitement and glee that I totally wasn't expecting while I was picking up bits for dinner.
6) Listening to the Spice Girls
I got the train back to my parents house on Friday evening and I boycotted all of the rush hour stress by listening to the entire Spice Girls back catalogue. It was maybe the best decision I made all week because I arrived home feeling sassy and girl boss-esque rather than beaten down by the commute.
7) Getting pampered at The Blow Bar
We had a big glam do to get ready for on Saturday and my lovely sister paid for me to have my hair and make up done professionally as a belated birthday treat. It was so nice to not have to worry about getting ready and I felt a million dollars all night.
8) An amazing night at Blossom's Ball
On Saturday evening we threw our very first Blossom's Ball to raise money for Blossom's Legacy and it was a roaring success! Everything ran smoothly, we had an amazing evening and we raised more money than we even thought possible. I danced the feet off myself and had such a fab time with all my loved ones - I can't wait for the next one.
9) A lovely family Sunday lunch
We headed out for Sunday lunch with all of my family yesterday to catch up on everything that had happened at the ball and to get some roast dinners in our bellies to ease the hangovers. It was lovely to spend some more time with them all and to celebrate such an amazing event, plus the food was totally yummy too.
10) The most hygge night in ever
When we got back to Leeds last night we transformed our living room into the cosiest place ever. We closed the curtains, put the fire on, lit about 20 candles and brought the duvet down from the spare bed. Being all snuggled up on the sofa with Sam and Lola while we watched Blue Planet was the perfect end to a lovely week and definitely helped me recover from all the fun!
What have you guys all been up to this week?
