10 favourites this week (#159)
Happy Monday you lovely lot! How are you all doing this week? I had such a lovely weekend at home that I'm starting this week feeling refreshed, happy and ready to tackle my to do list. It probably also helps that I've got another little city break to look forward to this weekend - we're off to Brussels with my family and I'm really excited! We don't really have any plans yet (other than drinking beer and eating Belgian waffles, of course!), so if you have any tips then please do leave me a comment.
Anyway, let's crack on with this week's favourites shall we?
1) Good friend news
I often think that there's nothing better as a friend than hearing your pal's good news, and this week I got to celebrate a few times on behalf of my friends. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I've got the smartest, sassiest, most talented bunch of friends, and seeing them flourish makes me so, so proud.
2) A new Topshop skirt
I am so desperate for spring to arrive that I keep finding myself drawn to all the florals and bright colours in the shops! This week I caved and treated myself to this gorgeous Topshop skirt and I already can't wait to wear it with bare legs and espadrilles to a beer garden (hopefully I won't have to wait too long!).
3) Some fun blogger mail
I had some super fun blogger mail this week that made me feel like a very lucky lady. First up was the latest instalment of the Styling Society box from Salon Success UK, which included my favourite Marula Oil shampoo and conditioner. I also received a gorgeous parcel from Myroo Skincare, featuring some of their new bits. All of their skincare is formulated with sensitive skin in mind, so I'm hoping it will help with my eczema flare ups.
4) Being featured in Blogosphere magazine
Ever since I started blogging, I've harboured a secret dream that one day I'd see my writing in print, and this week that dream finally came true! The lovely Vix chose one of my posts to be featured in the ace Blogosphere magazine, and I was so happy when I my copy landed on my doormat this week.
5) An evening of shopping and dinner with my Mum
If you read this post you'll know that last Wednesday I got to hang out with my lovely Mum for an evening of makeovers, shopping and dinner. It was so nice to spend some time together catching up and doing some of our favourite things, plus I remembered how much I really love shopping in Leeds.
6) A new obsession with Hourglass make up
Which leads me nicely onto my next point... After a fab makeover and tutorial at Space NK, I discovered my new favourite make up brand - Hourglass. Their products aren't cheap, but boy oh boy, are they worth the money. I picked up a foundation (which FYI is the best one I've ever found for my skin) and a serum, and my mum very kindly treated me to one of their gorgeous marbled blushers. I'm already eyeing up the rest of the range!
7) Catching up with my friend
I spent Thursday evening catching up with one of my lovely friends, Sarah. We met for some dinner and chatted non-stop for nearly 3 hours, which is a pretty perfect way to spend an evening if you catch me! The food was also delicious, so I left the restaurant feeling like a very happy lady.
8) Family Friday night dinner
On Friday night I headed out for dinner with my lovely family to celebrate my Auntie Jackie's birthday. I hadn't seen that side of the family since Christmas, so it was lovely to see them all, and as ever, we had such a good laugh. I know I say it all the time, but I really am lucky to have a family that I really love hanging out with.
9) A lovely weekend at home
I have had such a lovely weekend at home with my family, full of yummy food, catch ups and celebrations. I never fail to come away feeling a million percent more relaxed! I especially loved celebrating my wonderful Mum and Nan for Mother's Day yesterday - I really am very lucky to be related to such amazing ladies.
10) A brand new look for my blog
The last favourite on this week's list is one you might have already noticed - I've got a brand new look for my blog! I still need to make a few little tweaks, but I'm already so much happier with how everything is looking. I'm also feeling much more inspired to produce great content for you all too, so keep your eyes peeled!
