10 favourites this week (#160)

Happy Monday you lovely lot! I'm back again with my first favourites post in about 6 weeks. I didn't intentionally plan to put them on hiatus - I just had a couple of busy weekends which meant I didn't have time to write and schedule the posts. I played around with sharing my favourites on Instagram stories instead, but to be honest, it just didn't feel right to me. Lots of you actually preferred me sharing them that way when I ran a little poll, but it didn't feel quite as meaningful.

I've harped on plenty of times now about how the act of writing these posts is like a weekly gratitude practice for me, and I missed reflecting properly on all of the lovely things that filled my week. Plus, I love to look back on these posts every year, so I like that sharing them on my blog gives them a permanence they wouldn't have on Instagram.

Anyway, that's enough rambling - all you need to know is that they're back, and I'm super happy about it! So let's crack on shall we? Here are my 10 favourites this week...

1) Sunshine!

There's no way that I could start this list with anything other than the glorious sunshine! How gorgeous has it been to wake up to blue skies?! I've totally made the most of it by heading out for early morning walks, snapping all the pretty cherry blossom photos and generally soaking up the vitamin D after the long, cold winter.

2) A lovely work party

I spent Monday evening at a lovely little party that my company threw. We drank a few glasses of prosecco, ate some super cute branded cupcakes and generally had a good old catch up. I've been really enjoying how much more sociable my new job is - it's always fun to get to know your colleagues better outside of the office, isn't it?!

3) Drinks in the beer garden

When the weather is as good as it has been this week, you just have to make the most of it and head to a beer garden, right?! That's exactly how Sam and I spent Wednesday evening and it was BLISS. I drank cold white wine in the sunshine while looking out for passing dogs and putting the world to rights.

4) A mega holiday haul

I have to admit that I've been a little bit naughty and spendy this week and bought lots of lovely new things for our holiday! I ordered a few bits from Boohoo and ASOS and also went a little bit wild in Primark - in my defence I did have a couple of gift cards and vouchers that needed using, so my bank balance didn't take too much of a hit. I absolutely LOVE everything I've picked up and I've been having tonnes of fun planning outfits for our big trip.

5) My first iced latte of the year

There are a few things that signify the real start of spring for me - leaving the house without a jacket, the smell of freshly cut grass and enjoying a glass of wine while the sun sets. However, nothing screams sunshine and spring to me like the first iced latte of the year, which I enjoyed this week on my trip down to London. I'm looking forward to plenty more before autumn rolls around!

6) Trying out the Fenty face at Harvey Nichols

I've been really getting into beauty recently, so when the lovely team at Harvey Nichols invited me down to try out the Fenty face experience at their Leeds store, I said a super speedy YES PLEASE. The make up artist helped me find a foundation in a perfect shade, and honestly, I don't think I've ever loved a foundation more. I felt super glowy all evening, and I've got a list of products I want to buy longer than my arm. The experience is free, so if you're on the lookout for a new foundation, I'd thoroughly recommend going into store.

7) Being a panelist at Leeds Digi Fest

On Thursday evening I did something way out of my comfort zone - I spoke on a panel all about influencer marketing at one of the Leeds Digi Fest events. I was really nervous beforehand but once the conversation got going, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The discussion was super interesting, and it was great to hear some different perspectives about the blogging industry.

8) A date night with SamĀ

On Friday evening Sam and I decided to make the most of the beautiful weather and head out for a little al fresco date night. We went for a nice long walk along the canal before eating dinner outside at a local pub. It was so nice to spend some quality time catching up with each other and generally just enjoying the moment - we both made a promise to do it more often.

9) A lovely sunny Saturday

I didn't really have any plans for Saturday, but I happened to have one of the loveliest days I've had in ages. I headed out for a 5 mile run in the sunshine, before heading into Huddersfield to watch Sam play a gig in celebration of Record Store Day. We finished up with a couple of beers at Magic Rock Brewery before heading home for an evening on the sofa with the cat - it was total bliss.

10) Sunday at home

There's little I love more in life than a Sunday spent pottering at home, and that's exactly what we did yesterday. I got up early to work out and make brekkie, before doing some batch cooking and cleaning the house. We then spent the afternoon with Sam's brother and his family, eating Thai food and playing hide and seek with our gorgeous nephew. It was just lovely and has definitely set me up for another good week!

How's your week been?
