10 favourites this week (#169)

Happy Monday you lovely lot! Is it just me or has this week passed by in a flash?! It feels like I was just writing last week's post yesterday, and yet Monday is somehow here again. Not that I'm complaining - we're off to New York at the end of next week, so the quicker that comes around, the better. Anyway, let's crack on with this week's favourite shall we?

1) A slower start to the week

My weeks usually get off to a hectic start with an early train to London, but as my work schedule changed a bit due to some meetings, I enjoyed a slightly slower start this week. It was so nice to not set a super early alarm for Monday morning, and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to ease into the to do list, rather than hitting the ground running.

2) A little ASOS haul

I haven't really bought any new clothes for ages, but with our trip to New York creeping closer, I ordered a few bits from ASOS in preparation. I have a couple of dresses and a pair of jeans parcelled up ready to send back, but I was really happy with the bits I chose to keep. Sometimes a little bit of retail therapy is all you need!

3) Team lunch

On Thursday I headed out for lunch with my team at Cubana. We ate delicious food, celebrated some recent promotions and generally just had a lovely time putting the world to rights. I always really enjoy catching up with my colleagues outside of the office and I feel lucky to work with such awesome people.

4) Watching Sam play at Kirkstall Abbey

On Friday evening Sam played a gig at Kirkstall Abbey and it was ace! We used to live really near the abbey and it holds lots of special memories for us, so getting to watch him play his songs inside the ancient chapter house was very special indeed. It also provided a nice opportunity to catch up with our friends too!

5) Hanging out with my nephew

I spent a big chunk of Saturday hanging out with my gorgeous nephew, Ralf, and my sister-in-law, Kate. We took Ralf to his swimming lesson which I absolutely loved, and hung out while he played with Duplo and we drank coffee. It was such a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.

6) An afternoon at Anthology Brewing Company

I spent Saturday afternoon at a brand new Leeds brewery with Sam and some of his friends. Anthology Brewing Company has just opened up in Armley, and we had loads of fun trying out their beers and hanging out in the sunshine. I can already tell that it's going to be our new favourite haunt!

7) Some beautiful new prints

This week I treated myself to some gorgeous new prints from Cawligraphy, a business set up by one of my awesome readers, Ruth.  I love how bright and bold the prints are, and I can't wait to hang them as part of a new gallery wall in our attic room. Plus, doesn't it just feel nice to support small business run by brilliant people!?

8) Brunch with the girls

Yesterday I headed to my friend Yen's house for a lovely brunch with some of my old work friends. We ate a delicious feast of bacon, bagels and pastries, all washed down with plenty of tea and gossip. It felt like the very best way to spend a Sunday morning, made even better with lots of cuddles from Yen's gorgeous dog, Milo.

9) Making more plans for our new kitchen

This weekend we finally got everything ordered and organised ready for our new kitchen! We're still waiting on an installation date, but it will almost certainly be finished before the summer is out and I can't WAIT. I'm already daydreaming about cooking up a storm and hosting lots of lovely dinner parties when it's done.

10) A lovely Sunday afternoon

It feels like forever since I last spent a Sunday afternoon at home, so I thoroughly enjoyed pottering around and making the most of it yesterday. I had a lovely bath, drank red wine, read the supplements from the Sunday papers and generally got sorted for the week ahead. It was bliss.

How has your week been?
