Some Goals For September

Oh hey September, you're here already! How did that happen?!? Not that I'm complaining, because this is one of my very favourite months and I have got alllll the back to school vibes going on today. This summer has been such a fun one, with once in a lifetime trips, so many BBQs and visits to the beach, and plenty of evenings spent in beer gardens. But now that autumn is slowly creeping in I'm feeling ready to get back to the grind.

Which is a good thing really, because September is gonna be a HECTIC month. Our kitchen is in the middle of being renovated (so much dust), I'm launching a new project that I've been working on for ages on Monday, and my day job will see me opening two brand new salons before October rolls around. I'm tired just thinking about it.

So, in an attempt to stop myself getting totally lost in my to do list this month, I thought I'd set myself some little September goals...

Launch my new project

I know that I sound so annoyingly cryptic alluding to my new project, but I promise that all will finally be revealed on Monday, and I'll have a blog post up telling you all about it. I've been working on this idea since April and it's taken a lot of coordination, learning and effort to get it off the ground, so I can't wait for it to finally be out in the world.

Keep up the running

Over the past couple of weeks I've been slowly plodding my way through the Couch to 5K programme, and it's something I want to keep on track with this month. When my diary gets busy exercise is usually the first thing to go, but I know how important it is for my mental health, particularly when I'm feeling stressed. Plus, this weather is perfect for running in - plenty of sunshine and pretty views, but not too hot.

Get our house all cosy for autumn

Our kitchen renovations should be finished by the middle of September, so I definitely want to spend some time after it's done getting our house all cosy for autumn. We're currently living in absolute chaos, with crockery stacked in every corner and our fridge sitting right in front of our TV - hygge it is not. So once the fitters have finished, I'll be cracking out my dusters, giving the place a really good clean and making it nice and cosy before the cold weather sets in. Until then, I'll be over here stockpiling pumpkin scented candles...

Prioritise self care

I know I'm not the only one who's guilty of sacrificing sleep and down time whenever life gets a bit manic, but from experience I know that the same thing always happens when I do that - I end up one big anxious mess. So this month I am determined to prioritise self care no matter how long my to do lists get - I've got a stack of books I want to read, I'll be treating myself to plenty of baths, and I'm aiming for as many 8 hour sleeps as possible.

Have some fun!

And last but by no means least, I want to make sure I squeeze some fun into this month! I've got some really lovely plans amongst all of the work and I plan to enjoy them. We're heading to London next weekend with our friends (including our pals who are flying over from Australia!) and I've also got the Northern Blog Awards to look forward to at the end of September which should be really fun.

Have you set yourself any goals for September?
