10 favourites this week (#173)

Happy Monday, you lovely lot! How are you all feeling today? I won't lie - I'm still feeling super sleepy following a very fun weekend in London with our friends, but it was totally worth it. Last week was such a busy one, which explains why it was a little bit quiet here on the old blog, but I'm hoping that once our kitchen renovation is finished (fingers crossed it will be this week!), we can get back into a bit more of a routine. Our autumn is looking gloriously plan free, and I can't wait to just fully embrace hibernation mode and relax after a very busy year.

Anyway, let's crack on with this weeks faves, shall we?

1) An amazing response to This North Works

I couldn't start this list with anything else, could I?! I was totally overwhelmed by the amazing response that I had to my new project, This North Works, last week. The podcast debuted at number 3 in the iTunes careers chart (I mean?!?!?!) and my inbox has been filling up this week with lovely messages and ideas for collaborations. I can't wait to see what comes next, and of course I'll be sharing it with you all.

2) A hotel room mani pedi

I spent Monday evening having a little pamper in my hotel room with my first mani pedi in months. It was so nice to have a bit of time switching off and focussing on myself after a busy couple of weeks, and I also had my first dark shade of the season which definitely got me into the autumn spirit.

3) My first pumpkin spiced latte of the year

Which leads me on to my next point nicely - you know autumn has arrived when you've enjoyed your first pumpkin spiced latte of the year! Sam very kindly did a Starbucks run for us on Friday morning, and I enjoyed my delicious coffee in bed while I was getting ready - perfection.

4) More kitchen progress

Another week, another chunk of progress with our kitchen renovation! This week we had all of the walls and the ceiling boarded and reskimmed, and the tiles also started to go down. We have IKEA coming to fit everything from Wednesday onwards, and I am SO excited to have full use of a kitchen again!

5) The change in the season

It really feels like autumn has well and truly arrived this week, bringing with it darker evenings, cooler temperatures and allllll the good telly! It's no secret that I love this time of year and I have been fully embracing the change in the season - bring on the crispy leaves and bonfire night and, dare I say it, Christmas...

6) Dinner with the girls

One of my best friends, Teddy, left Leeds last week after 10 years of living in the city, and so we got together on Wednesday for some dinner and a little toast. We met in our first year of university and have been great pals ever since, so it will feel weird to not have her in Leeds. Thankfully she's moving to London and I'm there every week so we'll still get to see lots of each other.

7) Being reunited with my bestie

Friday was a very exciting day as we were reunited with our friend Steph for the first time in over a year! She lives with her husband in Sydney and it's always really special whenever we get to hang out, and this weekend was no different. No matter how long it might feel in between catch ups, we're always straight back to laughing and reminiscing again within minutes.

8) A fab weekend in London

As I mentioned earlier, we spent the weekend in London with our friends to make the most of Steph being home and it was just lovely! We enjoyed loads of yummy food, went for blow dries, danced and drank a LOT of prosecco - it's safe to say I was feeling a little bit worse for wear yesterday, but it was all worth it.

9) A trip to the Sky Garden

One of the things we did this weekend was take a little trip to the Sky Garden. For those who haven't heard about it, it's basically a beautiful public garden set 35 floors up a skyscraper in the city, and it offers the most amazing views of London. Plus - it's free! It's well worth checking it out if you're ever in the capital.

10) Cuddles with Lola

I think Sunday night cuddles with my little cat, Lola, would be on this list every week if I didn't think it would bore you all silly, but she was so cute and needy when we got home yesterday and it totally melted my heart. I've said it before and I'm very certain I'll say it again, but having a pet is just the best!

What have you been up to this week?
