10 favourites this week (#199)

Happy Tuesday, you lovely lot! I’m a day late with my favourites this week, but I think the launch of Joy School deserved a blog post all of its own yesterday.

I didn’t want to skip this week’s favourites altogether though as they really are my favourite posts to put together. Shall we jump right in?

1) Dinner and catch ups with Sam

On Monday evening I met my lovely friend Sam for dinner and a catch up. We hadn’t gotten together in ages, but it was like no time had passed at all - in fact, we were so busy chin wagging that we ended up being the last people left in Wagamamas! It was such a lovely evening and the perfect way to start the week.

2) Iced coffee

I know that summer has officially started when I switch flat whites for iced lattes, and that switch finally occurred last week! I absolutely love an iced coffee, and I’m excited to consume many more of them before autumn rolls around.

3) Feeling summery

After a pretty rainy start to the month, it finally felt like summer kicked in last week and I was loving it! There’s nothing better than waking up to blue skies and the smell of freshly cut grass, and eating dinner al fresco is just my absolute fave.

4) Spending some time at home

I headed back to my parents house last week to spend some time hanging out with them at home, and it was just what the doctor ordered. It was so nice to head out on dog walks with them, hang out in their back garden and sleep in my old bed - there’s nothing like home comforts, is there?

5) Lots of sunny runs

I’ve been trying to get back into a good habit with exercise as I know it works wonders for my mental health. Last week I took full advantage of the nice weather and headed out for lots of sunny run - nothing beats the feeling of pounding the pavements with a great song blasting through my headphones and the sun shining on my face!

6) Doing lots of cooking

My Mum and Dad have got the most beautiful kitchen, and I made the most of it while I was home by doing lots of cooking. I made a lasagne from scratch for the first time ever (using this recipe), and also made a Bailey’s tiramisu which was absolutely delicious.

7) Celebrating my Mum’s birthday

It was my lovely Mum’s birthday on Saturday, and I was so pleased to be at home to celebrate with her. We went out for a big walk with the dogs, made sure she had some lovely pressies, and I made her favourite foods for dinner. My Mum spoils us all rotten, so it was nice to be able to return the favour!

8) A lovely family Sunday

We continued the celebrations on Sunday afternoon with a big old family roast in the garden. It was so nice to catch up with more of the family and hang out with some of little cousins, and the fact that the sun was shining made it even better.

9) Binge watching Travel Man

I absolutely love Richard Ayoade’s Travel Man TV show, and on Sunday evening Sam and I spent some time binge watching the episodes we’ve missed. The only problem is that we now have even more destinations on our travel bucket list - does anybody else find their wanderlust brewing whenever they watch that show?!

10) Launching Joy School

Probably my favourite highlight of this week - finally launching Joy School! I’ve been working behind the scenes on this for what feels like ages, and so it felt really good to finally share it with the world! I’ve put so much energy and effort into this course, and seeing it be met with such a positive reception was amazing.

What’s been making you smile this week?
